Why does my pc fan rev up,and can the fan be removed and cleaned safely?

    The fan automatically revs up to increase the cooling ability. It also does this right when the computer turns on, before the fan control starts.

    Yes, the fans can be removed and cleaned safely.

    There are several fans that can be removed and cleaned...the heat sink fan (on top of the processor) and the case fans(s). The power suply fan (inside the power supply) can not be removed by itself.
