I need help with my outdoor wedding. I have the ceremony under control, but not the reception?

A lot of wedding rentals have dance floors you can rent that simply snap together. Check Yahoo yellow pages for party or weddding rental stores and should easily find something there.

Try your local parks some have dance floors and platforms ready to use. There is a small fee to rent the site with a pavilion for cover(just in case in rains for a bit). If it rains on the day of your wedding you are blessed. It did for mine. It's not much to rent them. Usually around $50-$100. I used a boom box with batteries and already pre-recorded Cd's for music. Or you can hire a DJ or band, the parks have power available also. Your fiance's Mom will be relieved of playing hostess and will be free to enjoy the reception. Congratulations and good luck. I'm simply seeking to determine the logistics of this...are the dad and mom to depart their kids at house or within the vehicle after which move get them among the rite and reception? What's going to occur is any dad and mom of younger ones may also pass your rite. If that is quality with you, move forward. Otherwise, take into account concerning or apart from kids from the whole occasion. If those dad and mom are not able to manage their kids for the period of a rite, there may be no longer a lot more of a hazard they are going to supervise them on the reception.

You can actually rent "throwdown" floors if you want that.

Once decided we started to prepare the grounds, with lots of love and new sod, new trees/vines and made a real rose arbor. We just started to "Treat" the grass 6 weeks before [no weeds, no ants] and we watered it every day, planted fresh flowers the month before as a gift to the folks that lived there and it was very pretty.

We created a Parking Zone with a cheap picket fence, and several tents they walk under, one for gifts and sign in, then another for shade. It was winter time so it was great outside.

We made 4 areas: Music zone, Food zone w/6 guest tables w/ chairs to rest and watch listen to music and view of the kids, Play zone for the kids-games and bubble maker, with a icechest of full of "juice boxes and waters", Drink zone-one table with punch w/ two guest tables and extra chairs- this is the smoker area, trash cans and booze in icechests [byob]

We purchased concrete pavers .89 each and made "areas" around the Tables of food and trails to the house(bathroom) and actually had some "little tikes" play ground equipment "borrowed" for the kids to play on in a "area" for kids.

Lots of the folks were asked to donate food or drink or "Chip in" for the live band instead of bringing us gifts. I lots of entertainment buddies and it turned into an incredible "jam session" with Celtic music to Gospel all singing 80's tunes. Crazy fun!

Designate a specific area in the ..I assume yard...maybe by putting lanterns around the desired dance floor, or tiki torches. They'll keep the bugs away as well!

It shouldn't be too hard, just make sure to put something around the dance floor that assures everyone where they should be.

You can rent a dance floor- they will come out and set it up for you. The DJ (if you are having one) will have to see the site before the wedding to make sure he has what he needs and can set up his equipment, etc. or you could hire a band/orchestra.

If its at your mom's..you better check with your city ordinance laws...Alot of time depending on where you are located...No PA's will be allowed or Live bands and also there will be a time limit and sometimes a permit will be required. Last thing you want is the police breaking up your wedding

You want the dance floor to be stiff, so one layer of plywood isn't going to work if you have serious dancers. Concrete squares with plywood over them will work better for that. It's not real cheap though. You might think about actually pouring a 3" slab of concrete over the grass (put plastic down to protect it) and tear it up a few days later. You might find that's cheaper.

You could use plywood for the dance floor. Are you having a DJ? You will need to set him up close enough to an electrical outlet....

You can rent the floor and the dj will take care of the music.
