Which type of shoe is best to work out on elliptical machine?
Hello! I need to buy some new sneakers as I seem to be suffering from Morton's neuroma in my right foot. I am wondering which type of sneaker or trainer is best to use on an elliptical machine, since there is no impact felt on the machine as there is with running on a road or track. Will a walking sneaker suffice? Please factor in my toe pain caused by the neuroma as well. I've got a doctor's appointment next week for the foot, but in the meantime, what type of shoes are best for using indoor elliptical equipment? Thanks for any advice!

on an elliptical, you really dont need to worry too much about top of the line shoes as there is almost no stress on your feet from pounding. Running shoes are made to protect your feet and cushion them from the constant pounding on the pavement.
I would just get a decent pair of running shoes that feels good to walk in. Try on some different brands and models, to see what feels good.

It is best to see your doc but until then keep doing what your doing. If you feel your heart is going too fast, then slow down for a minute or two until you regain your wind, then hit it harder again. The key is to get your heart rate up, you don't have to maintain that for the entire time. You need to get it up there for about 1-2 minutes, then back off for the same amount of time, then do it again. I think your doing great! Watch your eating along with this in order to speed the weight loss. As you lose weight, all of this will get easier and with what your doing, it won't be long! BTW- you need stress your cardiovascular system! You should know what the signs of something more serious could be, so be aware but your doing your heart more good by working it than by not.
