Christians: How much of the Bible did you know before becoming a Christian?

What were you hoping to find? What answers did you receive?

Update:

So it appears most had very little understanding of the workings of Christ. The search was not for a perfect system but for solution to an unfulfilled need. A lot of perseverence is required to continue in your faith, and I assume the Bible is sufficient at providing strength. Correct?

Update 2:

You have refreshed my memory and pointed out that my approach to non-believers may not be the best if I overwhelm them with too much information. Thank you all for answering (and I do mean ALL). You are in my prayers.

I did not know much of the bible at all. It wasn't until I knew that I had a relationship with Christ that I began to read the Word of God and came to understand Him more.

I knew enough to realize my need for a Savior- the Bible points us to Christ. After becoming a Christian- the whole book came alive for me.

Recognizing Christ and becoming a disciple of Christ is all that is needed.

The definition of Christian is be under the discipline of Christ. So we learn the rest over our lifetime.

To be a disciple means we are learning the ways of God under the instructions Jesus gave us.

    Joy to you -JJ

I went to Sunday School all of my life, so I actually knew it pretty well before I asked Jesus into my heart. Yes I did find Him. I find answers in the Bible all the time.
