New to the area, how can I find good places to take a date?

I'm now 25 and just started dating after finishing grad school and moving to a new area. The girl I met is originally from this area, but was away for the last 7 years. There's not a whole lot around here from what I've seen, but I'm so used to knowing where everything is, I feel out of my element not know where to go and I don't want to keep asking her for suggestions or going to the same places.

Any good ways of finding places to go?

    park,carnival park,a quiet restaurant,well.. a romantic place and a fun place lik that. plus do something special to her, i think the perfect spot is on the top of ferris wheel.
