I have a bug larvae of somekind?

I found what i think is bug larvae in my flower beds. It looks like a rolled up cigar and is reddish/brown. about an inch long. They are underground and do not move when touched or disturbed. I have looked everywhere for pictures and can not find "my" bug. Thanks

Could it be a cutworm pupa? They can in fact wiggle the abdomen if you handle them roughly. I know that this image shows a specific species, however, all cutworm pupa are virtually indistinguishable from one another. Most pupae are about an inch long. http://mint.ippc.orst.edu/spotcutid.htm

It is a type of grub. Kill it, or it will eat the roots of your flowers. If you have a lot of them, then buy some Grubex from Walmart or the Home Depot and sprinkle it on your flower bed. If you don't get rid of the grubs, then the grubs could kill your flowers. Also grubs attract moles, armadillos, and mole crickets, all of which tear up flower beds very badly.

Source(s): Personal experience. My yard was full of grubs last year.

that there is the larva of the ladybird beetle (regularly stated as the lady computer virus). they are advantageous bugs whose important prey is plant destorying aphids. this is coloring might seem to show a poisonous or venomous insect, yet they are fairly possibility unfastened and particularly useful.
