My Purity All Purpose flour Cookbook that I received from my aunt when I got married 35 years ago. Every recipe in the book is dependable. Its where I get my recipes for tea biscuits, cakes, icings, bread. All the basics are there. Its all worn out and dirty, but I still use it regularly.

Fannie Farmer
Because it has foolproof recipes for some of the trickiest recipes you'll ever want to cook, and all the classics. I had never roasted a turkey in my life, but I managed to serve up a turkey dinner for 8 without any drama at all, thanks to dear Fannie (hmmn, not a very glamorous name though, hey?)
And it has the perfect recipe for everything from devilled eggs to peanut butter cookies.
