The church, the law & your sex life...?

The church has been using it's power to enact laws regarding sexual acts since the middle ages. Dictating what can or can not be done in the privacy of our own bedrooms.

Is it time we stepped out of the middle ages?

Many laws are still on the books today in the USA.

Do you think the church or government should have their noses in our bedroom?

...as long as it doesn't involve children?

Agree. No one person or group should have the right to tell anyone else what to do (with their body) as long they do not harm another living being.

What law are you talking about? Do you know of anyone that the Church has stopped in and prevented them from having sex? Sex before marriage, with someone you are not married to is to be refrained from. Would you want your mom, wife, kids to do that sort of thing? Did/does it make them better, more respectful people? I have been a church member all my life. The Church may advise against such as you describe but I have never seen a bunch of Church members go to a persons house to see what they are doing in their bedroom. Have you?

I think those blue laws should be taken off the books ... what happens between two CONSENTING ADULTS isn't anyone's business. I think threatening people with laws (arrests and lawsuits) on consensual adultery and sodomy are a waste of taxpayers money and an abuse of power.

even if it did involve children it is not the church to intrude. i think it is time to take the offensive against the church and track down all religious leaders who are involved in ANY sexual acts of any kind. They are supposed to be examples of what they preach

What makes you think we all have a sex life? Some of us single women refrain from it due to the epidemic of diseases and treat our bodies holy. Nobody should have their nose in your bedroom.

Adults should be able to do whatever the hell they like, irregardless of how perverted, as long as everyone is willing and no one has their rights violated.
