Revolutionary Girl Utena DVD Question!?

I am thinking of buying this anime series, but I'm confused as there are so many DVD sets out there! I would like to have the original television series in the correct order if possible (the movies are not as important to me as the original series). What is the correct order of the DVD sets?

Thanks in advance!

Yay a Utena fan!! It's a great, but trippy series.

I'm gonna recommend you buy the first Rose saga with the movie included. The movie itself is visually impressive on it's own. Not to mention that it can be watched on it's own. I suggest though you watch it last or you won't fully understand all the symbolism.

The Rose saga is the beginning 1-13

The Blackrose saga is the middle 14-26

The Apocalypse Saga is the end of it. 27-39

The price tags are all in the $35 range so it's an expensive series to buy, unless you ebay of course. I noticed that the buy it now items have more of the box sets. You're gonna want to buy the boxsets cause the individual dvd's only have about 3-4 episodes apiece. Except the Rose collection cause the first 13 episodes were already out on vhs at the time.

Good luck in you buying. It's a good series.

I agree with Crystal H- all good information. I think Utena is an awesome series. It is my favorite, so I hope you enjoy it! The manga is good, as well.

If you are going to buy it, Overstock.com has the Black Rose Saga for $25 right now, which is quite cheep for this one. Thought I'd just let you know. :)
