Where is all this love that I have seen in discussed by the gay community towards Christians?

I answered a question today honestly and thought I answered it without being condemning but after reading the attitude that the homosexual community has towards someone who believes in No. one God, No. 2 the love of God and his giving of his son for our sins, No. 3 reading the answers that appear to me that the gay community think themselves above reproach and without any wrong doing in their lives No. 4 are just as insulting as atheist are toward the Christian community.

You don't make it easy to love when you are consistenly browbeating Christians. You ask a question and then don't like the answer you get. If you don't want to know, then please don't ask. I don't hate anyone, no matter your life style but I can disapprove as I do many things. To get 4 hands down because I have honestly and openly answered a question without trying to condemn is something that was absolutely insulting. I won't answer anymore of your gay questions. Now go ahead, let me have it. Now's your chance

"The goal of the gay-rights movement is twofold: To convert the culture's thinking on homosexuality, then to marginalize or silence those who won't be converted.

So far, the movement has converted the thinking of our most influential institutions. The American Psychiatric Association, the academic establishment, the media and Hollywood have all largely adopted a pro-gay viewpoint.

But the last major obstacle to the full acceptance of homosexuality is the Church, which is largely influenced by the Bible. So if the Christian population can be persuaded that the Bible doesn't condemn homosexuality, or that the Bible is irrelevant, then that would virtually ensure a pro-homosexual culture." - Joe Dallas, author of The Gay Gospel? How Pro-Gay Advocates Misread the Bible

    Matthew 18:8-10

“If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire."

Girl, how did you get all that from 4 thumbs down....I went and read your answer. I'm straight (mostly...lol) and speaking only for myself. What I would say to you is this. You are operating from the premise that someone who is homosexual has made a choice, that they could just as easily choose to be straight. You really need to read up, this just isn't true. Read the answer of the person just below yours- people are born with their own personal proclivities and tendencies- and being gay is one for some. Gays are not made that way by environment, or through choice-it is genetic. Can you get with that? So then this choice really becomes, do I love according to my true nature, or do I exist in a heartbreaking lie. Everyone deserves to be loved. Everyone-isn't that one of Christ's main messages, to love? What if you opened your heart on this one?

It is your choice to follow and interpret the Bible in the manner that you do. That is Not genetic, it is pure choice. You could just as easily choose to accept (go and read!) what I have written as true, and make a space in your heart for this truth. What you wrote was condemning, no matter how you tried to skirt the issue, or how you hedged your words. Your meaning was clear, hence the thumbs.

I have been puzzled by the same thing and it makes me wonder if its really about a real gay person, or its just more of the same atheism. I have defended gays against people that said horrible things about them...I have reassured them that they are loved and wanted, at least by others like you and I, in the Christian community. Yet...it makes no difference. If they do not want to be Christians then why do they care what we think? I just want to treat them the same as I do anyone else, with love and acceptance...I do not ask a persons sexual preference or their religion before I reach out to them in friendship.

Maybe us Grandma's are just puzzeled by life in general, lol.

Some people assume you are judging or condemning them the minute they find out your opinion differs from theirs. It is difficult to say what you believe without being attacked as intolerant. If they ask for your opinion, then let them know, you can say you believe something is sin without judging someone. We have no right to judge individuals, if you tell them they're going to hell, then that would be judging. But if they ask if homosexuality is a sin and you say what you believe (ie the Bible) that is just stating something written in scripture.

So should black people be nice to the Klan?

I realize that alot of Christians aren't mean to gay people but alot are and so is the general public. You guys have noone to blame except the media that gives those guys attention and your own people.

And when you say that one of the very cores of their being is wrong, don't be shocked that they get alittle defensive.

I read the post that you are referring too and I didn't see any real hate on there from you or them.

Actually, you are a Christian, it is better to stay out of the gay section and stay in the religious. You can do much better here by witnessing and helping others.

Face it, they are touchy and ready to slam everyone who crosses them or when people don't accept them. I dont time for that foolishness and abomination, I have too many good things to do for God.

Don't let it get to ya, you did answer what you felt and you planted a seed. God Bless You!!

Scripture says "Know the truth and the truth shall set you free." Some people choose to stay bound up. Plant the seed is what you did. Gods word does not return void. Let the Holy Spirit work on his heart and prayerfully he will repent. Keep up the good fight my sista'.

Interesting how christians always claim to be the attacked ones. What exactly is a "gay" question? Is it frilly and prancing? lol.

PS. That was terribly hard to get through. Grammar and punctuation are lovely things, dear.

Grandmabonnie, it is not you, it is the Christ in you that is being attacked.

Just love them as Jesus would have, but never compromise the truth.
