I will be the big 60 on Aug. 16th. Elvis died on my birthday in 1976 or 77 ( I forget whitch) and Babe Ruth, one of the famous baseball players died the day I was born. I don't know if this is a good thing to know about my birthday or not - LOL I enjoy finding new friends to discuss issues - no arguing though I am a Christian and stand on my beliefs I am married with one living child and one grandchild. I have some health issues but nothing that me and the Lord can't handle. I love to play the piano when my hands work right. I also rejoy making rag quilts and crosstiching. My husband is no 2 and the last - not that I don't like men but I think 2 marriages is enough - at least for me. I was an RN before the health issues and loved working Labor and Delivery There's nothing more beautiful then seeing a new life come into this world I believe in prayer and miracles and I like to help people who have a real need God is good, all the time, all day long.

  • What is the soonest a person can get results back from a breast biopsy?

I went to my primary physician because I had a rash under my breast, an uncomfortable feeling under my left arm, a little tenderness, a heavy feeling. She gave wrote me a prescription for the rash, told me to use an anti fungal powder and to try and keep my breast dry underneath which is nearly impossible to do. She felt around under my arm but said she didn't feel anything but said she would order a sonogram and I said that was fine. This uncomforable feeling had gone on for several months and I was getting tired of it. Let me say that I did have a mammogram the first of this year and it was normal and a check up with my GYN doctor and she also checked my breast and didn't feel any lumps. I check my breast regularly and I haven't felt any lumps either and couldn't feel these so this is something that was a complete surprise - READ ON.....

I went for the sonogram on Monday morning, which didn't take the tech long, she took it directly to the dr/radiologist and he immediately ordered a mammogram. I didn't think anything of it as I thought he was just trying to get a picture of my underarm, but when he came back an wanted a different picture of my breast then I began to think something. After that second set of films of my breast, he ordered a sonogram of my breast and then another sonogram with him watching so he could see the masses as she did the sonogram. When she was finished he told me he showed me what he was looking at and what he felt the sonogram was showing and that these places needed to be biopsied. He asked me if I could come back that afternoon to get it done which of course I did. They told me it would take a couple of days to get the results. It will be a week this Monday. Does anyone know if this is normal? We have postponed a trip because of all of this. My husband doesn't get paid when he doesn't work so we figured if I was going to have to have any kind of surgery then he would need to take the time off then. Can anyone give any help, suggestions etc. Does anyone know the process once a person is diagnosed? Does a person always just get a lumpectomy or is there an option to have the whole breast removed and just get a new one - like smaller. I am 65 yrs old - and if this is cancer - I don't want the chance of having to do this again. I would rather have the breast removed, and have another one put there and have my other one done also. The ones I have aren't so hot - ya know???

Thanks for any help, any one can give.

  • Do any of you have fibromyalgia and if so what are your syptoms and what treatment do you receive?

I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2002. I did well on Requip for a while then Sinetment was added. I have trouble with depression so have been on different anti depressives over the years (even before the diagnoses of Parkinson's). I have had different things come up that had to be treated but in the last year, pain has developed pretty much all over my body. They say I do have arthritis (not rheumatoid) and a rheumotologist has suggested that I have fibromyalgia. I also have trouble sleeping and stay fatigued all the time. I never have any energy. I am trying to figure out if I just have Parkinson's and that's what's causing my pain as a person can have pain with that or if I just have fibromyalgia or both. I don't usually do things like normal people or have normal symptoms like other people. I see a neurologist, a pain specialist, a psychiatrist, an internist (my primary physician) and of course a Gyn for the female stuff. It seems no one seems to really know what to do with me. I need any help I can get.

Any help will be appreciated. I no longer take Requip. I do take Sinetment, vicodin, Zanaflex, trazadone, Lexapro, lasix (sometimes) and klonopin.

  • Does anyone know anything about rashes under the breast that is red with a pimple head?

I had a red raised rash with a pimple head under one breast and the doctor thought it was the shingles but that's about cleared up and now it's under the other breast. Does anyone have any answers. It's a little bit itchy but otherwise isn't really bothersome although I have had some soreness and pain in my breast. I do take multiple meds because I have parkinson's disease, neuropathy, possible fibromyalgia, osteoporosis.and chronic depression. I take Sinemet, clonopin, lexapro, vicodin, meloxicam, zanflex and lasix. Could this be medication related. I'm a nurse but don't believe it to be an allergic reaction because it's too localized. Can anyone help?

  • Have you ever listened to silence?

When you are quiet what do you hear when there is nothing but silence? Do you hear anything? Is it like the story that no one hears a tree fall unless you are there to hear it fall? What do you hear when there is nothing but silence?

  • Why do atheist find the Bible so intriging when it's something they don't believe in?

I have been having an email conversation with one of our posters who is an atheist. He is trying to convince me that the Bible is untrue. Now I ask why? What difference does it make whether I believe the Bible to be true or not. I have found that most atheist go to great lengths to convince Christians that the Bible is just a bunch of made of stories by atleast 40 different lunatics, that none of the OT prophecies came true, that Christ was somebody that walked the earth but none of the eye witness accounts are true, and that science is the only explanation they can come up with as to how the earth was formed, and even that explanation they don't all agree on. There has yet to be proof that the Bible is untrue. I guess all the scienctific evidence that has been found, is untrue also - so tell me why is it that atheist are so determined to prove the Bible is untrue, what is the big deal, why are they so intrigued with it?

  • Does anyone know anything about disability benefits for a child?

I have parkinsons' Disease so have not been able to work since 2003. My disease is progressing so trying to work is out of the question. I've tried doing some marketing and didn't do anything but loose money. I have had custody of my grandchild since 2001 and do not receive any financial aid from her parents except on rare occassions. They get her about every other weekend and both of them work. I did not ask for any aid when I gained custody as I knew I couldn't get blood out of a turnip and they willingly gave me custody because they couldn't get along and would have brawls - long story - Her natural grandfather does not give any aid either nor offers too. He can see her anytime but seldom ask and it would be war to get anything out of him. When I first applied for disability I was told that my now husband and I would have to adopt her in order to get any help. He does get a retirement and works sometimes out of a painters local. Can anyone give me any info?

  • This may have been asked already but why do non believers have to see, touch, taste or smell to believe in God

Do atheist not ever accept anything on faith? I know the Bible is hard to comprehend, but if only people that did not believe, knew the peace and fullfillment of feeling the Holy Spirit within. I read all the time that some would prefer hell to being in heaven if they believed in either and I don't understand that concept either. Could someone please explain this reasoning to me. As a Christian I don't profess any kind of perfection because people are human no matter their belief but why hell over heaven? Why not believe with your heart instead of totally with your mind?

  • Where is all this love that I have seen in discussed by the gay community towards Christians?

I answered a question today honestly and thought I answered it without being condemning but after reading the attitude that the homosexual community has towards someone who believes in No. one God, No. 2 the love of God and his giving of his son for our sins, No. 3 reading the answers that appear to me that the gay community think themselves above reproach and without any wrong doing in their lives No. 4 are just as insulting as atheist are toward the Christian community.

You don't make it easy to love when you are consistenly browbeating Christians. You ask a question and then don't like the answer you get. If you don't want to know, then please don't ask. I don't hate anyone, no matter your life style but I can disapprove as I do many things. To get 4 hands down because I have honestly and openly answered a question without trying to condemn is something that was absolutely insulting. I won't answer anymore of your gay questions. Now go ahead, let me have it. Now's your chance

  • Why is homosexuality put in the same category as Murder, rape, adultery and other sins?

I just answered a question about homosexuality being demonic in which I said I did not consider it demonic but wrong acording to the Bible. Someone else came back and said to stop putting it in the same category with murder, rape etc. A sin, is a sin, is a sin. I don't know that God has degrees of sin that man puts on sin but I do believe homosexuality is wrong as well as other things listed in the ten commandments. I do believe there is forgiveness no matter who you are or what you have done. I would like other input about this subject and why people think homsexuality should not be put in the same category as other sins. Sex of any kind without marriage, in MY opinon is a sin. Have I done this - yes but that doesn't make it right. Christians are not above doing things that are wrong. No one is good - no not one. Those who don't believe in the Bible, that is your choice but I would appreciate sincere answers and not sarcasm. Thank you.

  • Has anyone who is married ever been tempted to have an affair?

This is a touchy subject but just out of curosity, when tempted did you give in, squash the feelings, get counseling, tell your husband or wife, pray about it or what? I'm not talking about celebrities and their affairs but people who have been married for years, have never been unfaithful but find themselves not happy but have an attraction to someone else and the feeling is mutual with the other person.

  • Why do people vote exclusively Democrate or Republican?

I have never understood voting for a certain party. I vote for who I feel is the best candidate not whether that person is dem. or repub. I think we should do away with parties and just vote for who the person that we believe best to run this country - if there is such a person.

  • I am curious to know how many people who complain about the president actually voted.?

I don't agree with everything Pres. Bush has done but I do think he was the better of the two choices. I have heard many ugly things said about him and wonder out of all who have so much to say actually voted. If you didn't vote then you have no voice in what is done. That's what I say.

  • Why as Christians do we sometimes feel that God is always late?

I listened to James Dobson the other morning and he was discussing the story of Lazarus and how his sisters had sent word to Jesus that their brother was sick. Jesus didn't arrive until 4 days after Lazarus had died - I know what Mr. Dobson said but would like to hear what other Christians have to say. I don't mind unbelievers answering as long as you give an answer that doesn't tell me that it didn't happened or there was no Christ or there is no God - that horse has been beat to death so unless you can offer something else please leave this question to those of us who do believe. Thank you.

  • Can sexual enhancer lubricants be bought somewhere besides online?

Some of us older women need a little more help with the intimate side with our spouses but it seems that all the stimulants have to be bought online. I do not want to use my debit card as I've had problems with money being taken out that was not authorized, so I would rather go to a store and buy what I need rather than order. I'm not talking about a plain lubricant but something that actually stimuates a female into having a climax. Please no wisecracks - thank you.

  • How can Christians be less hypocritical and more humble?

After getting the feedback from most nonbelievers on my last question, it made me realize that I indeed am a hypocrite. Not meaning to be but none the less, I am. What I need to be is more humble and helpful to my fellow man/woman. Christ healed, taught, performed miracles that even as a Christian is hard to believe but believe it I do. It's very hard to explain how Christ has affected my life in the the 50 yrs I have known him. I don't understand all there is to know about the Bible and doubt I ever will but then I'm not sure we are to understand it, but accept it by faith. I know that's hard to do when it's hard to understand how a snake can speak, or a man can walk on water, or be raised from the dead but then it's hard to understand how a brown cow can eat green grass and give white milk. Christians are to live in the world but not be as the world.

  • What exactly do nonbelievers expect from Christians?

I am astounded by some of the feedback that Christians get when asking a question concerning non believers and why they do or do not believe, and the criticism Christians get because we are not perfect. So what is it other than leaving everybody alone do non believers expect from Christians? I would appreciate sincere answers, not sarcastic answers or insults but true from the heart answers. I already know that we are considered fundies, ignorant, dumb because we believe what some consider a myth - is there something I am missing?

Would non believers rather Christians just go away and leave the forums to you for some other discussion?

  • Does anyone around here know what the word ASSUME means?

I just marked an answer as thumbs up when it should have been down. Someone made a remark about a man liking boys. Now unless this other person knows the one asking the question, to say such a thing about a person is really very unadult. What has happened to people Christian and non christian that such insults must be said? We need to watch our tongues, saying ugly things can get something untrue started and could ruin someone's reputation. There are some things that should NOT be allowed to be said about a person unless it is a known fact and already public. Need I say more???

  • What resources do some of you use to give your information about the Bible?

I have read all sorts of answers about the Bible and would like to know where those of you especially who don't believe go to get your information. I pretty much know where Christians go but where do non believers get their information and why do you believe what you read?
