Jessica,
Read the Bible!!!! See 1 Corinthians Chapter 5, It is simple paul gives us explicit instruction regarding individuals involved in "sexual immoralality".
If you can admit that you live a lifestyle that is contrary to the word of God, and that you are willing to repent of this lifestyle, then many Christian Chruches will welcome you.
As matter of fact we are required to welcome you based on the idea that a person engaged in "sexual imorality" or any other sinful behavior for that matter, is repenting from that lifestyle that is opposed to Christ.
If any man be in Christ He is a New creature, behold that old things are passed away and all things are become new.
To be a Christian means to become a "little Christ" or more literally, a smaller or less greator version of the anointed one. Jesus was anointed and without sin, in Christ we are anointed by His Spirit to be like Him. Jesus ate with the sinners, the prostitutes, and tax collectors and thieves, etc, etc... He spoke to the Samaritan woman, he healed the Ciro Phoencian Womans daughter, all of these thinsg were frowned upon by the religious leaders of the day, why? Because Jesus taught these people that they no longer needed to be the way they were, that they would soon have access to God in the spirit, and that the trappings of a dogmatic religiosity was not going to be the way.
But Jesus never abolished the Law of God. He said in order to get into the kingdom of heaven that you must be more righteous than the Pharasees. The only way to keep the law better that they was to have a better sacrafice than they. Jesus on the Cross was that sacrafice.
Jessica to be in Jesus is to be in His desire, His will, yours surrendered to Him. You speak as though we are the ones imposing the criteria of Christian behavior, but it is CHRIST. His desire in us ALIVE!!!! to turn away from sex addictions, drug addictions, from false teachings, from the things of this world that will not last. Things that only give pleasure for a short time leaving you wanting. Jesus truly gives you living water that once you drink it you will never thirst again. And if you ever do thirst for this world, Jesus is there to be with you and give you drink again, and again, and again.
This is that last time for the Gospel message from me to you
kiddo. Jesus says to your heart "you have heard My word from My servants, "choose life that you might live" do not think you can live on the fence forever. Let the Gospel of my blood ,and flesh fill your heart, or live to serve this world and I will weep for you. But it is your choice My daughter. My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts, for as high as the heavens are above the earth are My ways above your ways and My thoughts above your thoughts." "My love for you is greator that you will ever know, but you must realize that it's hard to kick against the pricks, and you should be careful to not harden your heart when you hear My Spirit call out to you"
"Read my Word, seek My Voice, Ask and you shall recieve, seek and you will find, knock and the door shall be open unto you" "Seek the Lord while He may be found. For the time is short and truly I say unto you that The lawless one will not be allowed to abide in My Church. Nor will those that practice his dark and lawless ways."
By the Mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ

That's very well said. I am a Christian. I don't hate gays, I hate their sin. I hate my sin as well and that's why I knew that I needed Jesus and believe that He is the only way for redemption. I won't go to a church that won't make everyone feel welcome. Jesus called the sinners not the saved and those who think that someone doesn't belong in their church either isn't saved themselves or they've forgotten the mercy and grace that God has given them and they need to repent. as far as the brainwashing goes, I read and believe every bit of the Bible. If someone preaches anything inconsistent with the Bible, I get up and leave. Part of what I believe in the Bible is that homosexuality is detestable to God. Therefore, if they want to find salvation in Jesus Christ they will have to turn from their sin and yes, being gay is a sin.

I am a believer and follower of Jesus, our Christ and I do not hate gays or atheists, though I do hate their sin and unbelief that binds them and keeps them from the fullness of the Lord.
That being said, I hate my own sins that keep me from the fullness of the Lord. I struggle daily with sins of my own and I am constantly being reminded that I am nothing without the saving grace of Jesus who helps me to turn away from that sin nature and who washes away those past sins with His blood shed upon the cross as the once and for all atonement according to John 3:16.
Unfortunately some new or immature believers in Jesus find themselves in the same snare the Pharisees found themselves, slinging their bag of rocks, focusing on everyone else's struggles in order to distract themselves from their own shortcomings.
Interestingly enough, Jesus called these people "hypocrites and white washed tombs." Clean and orderly on the outside, but inside, they were as rotting flesh, full of decay and the stench of death.
Regardless of their hypocrisy or the fact that Jesus hammered them with the creative metaphor, calling them, whitewashed tombs, then to the homosexual I say this;
Sin is still sin. If a person who professes Jesus as their Christ and knows they are sinning against God through the act of homosexuality and seeks to self justify that sin rather than repent of it and do instead the will of the Father according to His Word, then they too are hypocrites.
Wouldn't we all do well to worry about the logs in our own eyes rather than always trying to remove the specks in everyone else's?

You've obviously come into some "bad" Christians. I assure you much like everyone on the face of the planet there are those who are good people and those who are bad.
As for judging someone, honestly I practice judging someone by their heart, gay, straight, Christian, Atheist, Muslim....I hold no prejudices. We have bigger fish to fry because AIDS doesn't care, cancer doesn't care. God only cares about your heart and showing the light in me, I care about ones heart as well.
BUT...I do HATE Lucifer. He's the cause of all this hatred and miscommunication to begin with .
Come to Calvary Chapel, I know we're a Bible based church (No Membership Required). Now we will tolerate you, but will you be tolerant of us? Us Christians parade with our bibles like gays parade with their rainbows or whatever the symbol of choice may be. The minute a Christian professes his/her faith we're persecuted as being zealots, fanatics or haters of everyone who isn't Christian. Know this and know it well....We are all fighting the same enemy.....Lucifer, the Father of lies. (I'm frustrated with him and the way he perverts the truth.)

Well firstly God did not make someone a homosexual that is a choice. It says in the Bible that that is a sin. i did not say that I hated all that was different the only thing you can do for them is pray. there are some churches that do that fortunately I do not go to one of those.

You are generalizing. I do not judge people for being gay, atheist or anything else. Not all Christians do this, just the ones going out there and making the rest of us look bad. The Christians out there making all of the noise are usually hypocrites.

any person who is like that is not a christian they just wish they were. a true christian is loving and compasionate. and doesnt shun anyone or single out people.i know some churches are like that but people who are like that really should think about what they are doing. every person sins but if people like that do those kind of things i wonder what it will be like for them on Judgement Day?

a real Christian is a individual who has the Spirit of Christ interior and as a effect believes that Christ is God, that he got here in the process the virgin start, and that he resurrected from the lifeless. you comprehend besides as I that this could't be proved to human delight nor argued logically. you're coping with the supernatural and is the supernatural stupid?
