New mini-refrigerator temperature setting?

Recently I bought a small fridge for my office. It is really slow making ice cubes and ice cream is always mushy. The thing is new so maybe the problem is the settings. It has the typical dial inside with settings 1 thru 7. Which one is ths coldest??

    mine took forever to get ice........ the freezer has like a two inch block of ice around it and now i can freeze things........... and 7 would be i got mine at 6

    Is it an older fridge? Was it kinda cheapish? Mine went out after a year and would only get cold in winter time.
