    Midway.

It was the turning point in the Pacific war. Japan lost four aircraft carriers and most if not all of their irreplaceable pilots, as the Japanese keep their pilots flying until they were killed. After Midway, the US would never suffer a serious defeat.

If you ever took precalculus or some other math class which covers properties of functions, you learn how to determine the domain of the function. One of the red flags to look out for is when you divide by zero. In your expression, when x = 3, the denominator is zero. Thus, the domain is every number beside 3. Unfortunately, the number you are trying to plug in (x = 3) is the only number that doesn't work in this function. To see this first hand, you0 can graph this function on a TI-83. If you zoom in on the point of the graph at x = 3, you will see that there is a blank spot there! That is because, as stated above, there just isn't a value of the expression at x = 3. You may say, well it looks like the answer should be 6, looking at the graph. This concept of what the answer "should be" is what limits are all about. The values of the function on the left and right of x = 3 all go towards 6 as you get closer and closer. So we say the limit as x goes to 3 is 6. So even though it is not technically the answer, 6 is your best choice. Zero is absolutely not correct in any sense. The very best answer is to say that the expression is undefined at x = 3. This problem illustrates why 0/0 is called indeterminate. In this problem, 0/0 in a way equals 6. The idea that 0/0 can equal anything is actually the essence of calculus.

That's easy, The Battle of Midway, June 1942. This battle was the turning point in the Pacific war. After Pearl Harbor our fleet was very small and Japan was coming at us with 200 ships. That battle saved not only Midway Island but the Hawaiian Islands as well.

The most important battle in the Pacific during World War II was MIDWAY. It turned the tide of battle against the Japanese and for the Allies. Never again would Japan conquer more territory.

While Midway was without a doubt a decisive victory and turning point in the war, it could be agrued that Coral Sea had an even more significant impact on the war and warfare in general.

Coral Sea set the stage for everything else to follow it. It was the first engagement of aircraft carriers. That is it was the first naval battle in history where the combatants did not fire directly on each other.

The Battle of Midway. It halted Japanese expansion, it destroyed the majority of their aircraft carriers and cost them dearly in terms of experienced pilots. Without the work of Joe Rochefort and the Cryptanalysts at Station HYPO we would have been in the dark on where the Japanese planned to attack.

The Battle of Normandy or the Battle of Britain. The Battle of Normany put our guys on the beach to finally push back the Nazi War Machine to end the war. If the Battle of Britain was lost, the British would have exited the war leaving the US and the struggling Soviet Union the only countries capable of defeating the Axis Powers.

Midway. Japan's offense was stopped dead in it's tracks, and had to go on the defense for the remainder of the war.

    Midway

Go to the library and get a good history book. The author of that book will give you some insight as to "the why "
