Are fundamentalist Christians against gay marriage, because it could disprove God?

I'm still trying to understand why fundamentalist Christians are against gay marriage.

In my search for truth on that, I thought maybe it could be in the argument of "slippery slope". Maybe it's something like this:

If we allow two men to get married, then soon somebody wants to marry his dog, and cats will wanna marry trees. And if that happens penguins will marry cats...and..and... crocodiles will wanna marry ducks, and if crocodiles marry ducks, they will have babies, and those babies will be crocoducks...

And crocoducks will prove evolution, and evolution disproves God.

Could that be why they are so scared of gay marriage?

Christians fear gay marriage mostly because they think there might be a miracle birth that would make Mary's look weak.

I think they are against gay marriage because they believe what the bible says, to the letter... and the bible says that homosexuality is wrong. It also names marriage as a religious institution, therefore... if according to this religion homosexuality is wrong, how can they then allow this morally wrong relationship to complete a religious rite?

I'm not saying that I disagree with gay marriage, but... from they're point of view, it makes sense. Why can't we just let the gay's have all the rights of a married couple, and just call it something else for crying out loud? The Christians just don't want their religious rite taken from them...

    You are funny....NOT!

No Christians are against gay marriage not because it could disprove God, but because it is wrong. (1 Chorintians 6:9)

Marriage was meant to be a lifelong commitment. The sanctity of marriage has been diluted as the divorse rate climbs. I feel that trying to create gay marriage will only increase the divorse rate and will make the bond of marriage weaker.

Your question is actually nonsence and it shows your ignorance.

Christians are against gay marriage the same as they are against rape, murder, theft, adultry, slander, and anyother sin. God says it is wrong, it is wrong.

On a final note, even Darwin who wrote the THEORY of evolution admitted he was wrong at the end of his life. Evolution is a theory that can not be proved. And God can not be disproved.

As for your mix breed joke, animals that are close like goats and sheep have actually tried to mix, and the result is a grotesque deformity that dies before birth or immediately thereafter.

Be careful of the mockery you make of God. You will regret it. He has a way of getting His point across to you. You just may be to stupid to see it coming.

I was raised catholic and always felt that gay people should have every right to marriage. Most people I know, if not all, feel the same. Love is love. The bible says **** about not lying with another man etc. but that is all bull just like the bible condemn women who are raped and don't scream loud enough, and condone stoning women over minor thing along with a ban against mixed fibre clothing

Okay, the reason christians are against gay marriage is because if a marriage law was passed a pastor would have to marry a gay couple if asked or be imprisoned for discrimination. This is why christians don't want a marriage law passed. As for just the act of being gay. Christians believe it is biblicaly wrong. The whole God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve argument. I have nothing against gay marriage, in fact, I believe that this is their right. But I also believe that no pastor should be forced to do something that is against their religion.

LOL Markyyy. I wish that was the only reason. But they think that if two members of the same sex got married, this will happen:

The "institution of marriage" will be destroyed, and apparently they cannot see how heterosexuals already wrecked marriage. Over 50% of marriages in the US end in divorce. They think we're pedophiles, and incapable of raising kids: Think again. I can raise a child better than anyone of them (At least he/she will be more understanding and not bigoted).

They think that we're the reason why there are STDs. That's so lame. Most AIDS cases are among HETEROSEXUAL, African-American women. Does that mean to ban marriage among African-Americans??

They say that homosexual men & women cannot have babies: So that means marriage should be banned on:

    - Couples UNWILLING to have babies.

    - Senior citizens.

    -Infertile couples

(Like the world needs more kids. It's overpopulated as it's).

They say the very famous (& lame) cliché: God made Adam & Eve, not Adam & Steve. News flash: At least 67% of the earth's population do not see the bible as a true book.

All are lame excuses based on the bible.

I really don't like this section, just checking on what you're up to, with your satire & panache! Ho ho! Crocoducks! I have a great Bush quote, (this is for real) for "Pop": "I think that gay marriage is something that should be between a man & a woman." Isn't that RICH? As to fuzz--starts out uninformed & doesn't miss a beat. What's happening in Mass. is POLYGAMY, having more than one wife. Is that okay with you? I mean, it's not decadent dirty sinful homo? #1. We are OVER populated; you make it sound as if EVERYONE will turn to homsexuality. No problem with reproduction in the whole world. #2. Teen pregnancy goes up? I wonder where you got your stats on that one. #3. Insurance rates! Another assumption. #4. Gays in some states already adopt kids, & the idea of a mommy & a daddy is a bit archiac; what about single parents? (I have substantial knowledge of these situations, & the kids are just fine, in fact, better than living with mommy & daddy who fight all the time). #5. Really over the top! Kids aren't confused about their sexuality, they are born gay or not. #6. A little confused, you wrote: "It's not biblical." Hmm. I thought that all this sin thing was based on the bible? Perhaps you should have rephrased. #7. Falwell also believed "hate the sin, not the sinner" & I think he honestly believed, in his uninformed mind, that being gay could be rehabilitated like drugs. (Am I answering your question, Markyy?) Does anyone really believe that heterosexuals can be rehabilitated to be gay? Wouldn't that be the same false premise? Markyy, you know full well that religion, (Christian), & only religion is anti-gay. Plus, the separation of Church & State is a joke. Fundalmentalist Christians were incredibly influential in Bush's campaign. I really don't care, or hate what others believe. As long as it doesn't attempt to dictate to those who do not agree with it.

I don't think it so much that fundamentalist Christians are AFRAID of gay marriage, but they are against it (is clearly stated in the Bible on how we are to live and produce) as it was Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve or Eve and Sue! If it were, both the males and the females; they cannot reproduce off spring as two males or two females. He said multiply! You can not multiply with two males or two females, he did not make us this way. It is not a question of they are AFRAID, it clearly states it is unacceptable in the Scriptures that God gave to us to live by.

Christan's are against gay marriage because GOD created man and woman for procreation so that we could have a glimpse of his plan gay marriage throes GODs creation back in his teeth and man says he knows better then GOD but the created will never be more then the creator

No, that's not why. We are "against" it because the Bible says homosexuality is unnatural.

That being said, I'm okay with them getting married but a church shouldn't be forced to marry a gay couple.

Why were there no homosexual marriages before Christianity? You see to want to place blame by picking on the easy target rather than looking at the questions surrounding the problem. Could it be your own fear of the answers?
