Summer math/reading programs to do at home?

My son will be finishing kindergarten in 2 weeks. What programs are available to do at home to continue progress through the summer? He has learned so much in this first year, I want to avoid backsliding as much as possible. Thanks!

There are TONS of really fun websites that you can check out together. Try: www.starfall.com and www.bemboszoo.com. Also check out www.drjean.org and www.readinga-z.com for books that you can print and ideas for fun stuff you can do together. Keep reading to him all summer!

There is alto of Math/reading he can do at home. For Math buy him a math work book at the store and make him do a page in the book every day.For reading take him to the book store and let him pick out a tons of books and let him read some of the book to you every day. Hope this works.Give him reward s for doing Math in the summer

Any bookstore or Sam's Club will have things you can do with your son - there are even 'bridge' books that cover stuff between grades.

It will be hard to find reading material on your son's level, unless you have a GREAT library or he is a REALLY ADVANCED reader. You might have to buy a beginning first grade reader - probably any curriculum would do. It is REALLY HARD to find reading material that advances slowly and steadily w/o buying a reader.

You dont need reading programmes.Read stories to him and get him toread back to you.Make reading enjoyable.Home and holidays should be about fun rather than focusing on work. You can incorporate maths into his world when you go shopping. Give him some change and he a can buy a treat andhe work out how much change he will get back.

There is a book called Bridge Book. They are very good. You can use them to review what they learned during the year.
