What mystery book do you suggest?

I want to find a good mystery book to read while I am at work with nothing to do. I like murder mystery books, but I don't like to have supernatural things involved like ghosts etc. Just simple detective type stories with a good plot. Can anyone suggest a book and/or author? Thanks!

The Sherlock Holmes Mysteries (Sir Author Conan Doyle, of course) would fall into the oldies-but-goodies category.

I certainly have been analyzing Stephen King considering i replaced into approximately 11. a number of the books obtainable are slightly extra person than i might propose for a 13-year-previous, yet i won't be able to say something unfavourable. Like I stated, i replaced into 11. Dean Koontz is tremendously good too. V.C. Andrews wrote a sequence of books ("The Ruby" sequence) that may no longer probable frightening as in monsters, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it incredibly is have been given a great form of kinfolk secrets and techniques and deception and is suspenseful. i admire the comparable varieties of books you do (properly, i'm no longer probable interested in fictional mysteries), and those are the varieties of books I take exhilaration in.

This is a easy read, but an amazing book: The Westing Game. It's super funny, but also has a very interesting mystery plot line. You won't put it down.

Anything by James Patterson. Read either his Alex Cross series or The Woman's Murder Club. I also recommend Tess Gerritsen and Patricia Cornwell.

    Anything by Agitha Christie, definitely.

My favorite of hers is And Then There Were None/Ten Little Indians.

My favorite mystery book that is really really really amazing is Always Six O'Clock by Phoef Sutton. I couldn't stop reading it. I think I read it in two days to be honest!

Try "The Tenth Circle" by Jodi Picoult. It was really good and kept me guessing through the very end.

Or... Any of James Patterson's books would fit the bill.
