Why is my cat peeing everywhere except the litter box, and how can I get her to stop?

Does the litter box have a lid on it? I have a cat who quit using the litter box, but when we took the lid off, she was fine. Of course, there are also the obvious, make sure it's cleaned regularly and so on. Also, if your cat goes in a certain place or couple of places, by now that may be "her place (s)". When cats have a urinary tract infection they will pee indiscriminately, sometimes they will squat right in front of you and pee to show you that something is wrong. If your cat hasn't been checked by a vet please do so.

You may not be keeping the litter clean enough for her or perhaps the litter is scented. You might try switching litter brands and be sure to clean the box often.

first you need to clean the litterbox...and that does not mean just empty the dirty litter...take it outside and put TSP in it sprinkle it on the bottom....Trisodium Phosphate...always use gloves as this stuff will eat the skin right off your hands....you can buy it @ any store....the label is TSP.....swish it around and let it sit for about an hour...then rinse it very well and dry it then fill it with about 4 to 8 inches of fresh litter....PLASTIC is POUROUS and they can still smell the bad smells....I do this once a week and clean the litter box of droppings everyday.....clean the scoop also....at least every 6 to 8 months buy a new box.....if this does not work then there is a problem in her urinary tract......I myself use baby wipes on her paws and bottom also tail...CATS DO NOT LIKE THE SMELL OF THEIR POOP OR URINE!....i HAVE TAUGHT MY CAT TO USE THE TOILET (NOW IF I CAN JUST TEACH HER TO FLUSH IT) I WILL BE OK!....its true!....Good Luck!

First, are you cleaning the box daily and changing the litter weekly? If not, that could be a problem.

Also, its possible you cat may have a bladder or kidney infection, to rule that out take your cat in for a urine analysis. If none of these suggestions work, talk with your vet, they may have other ideas.

If you are keeping the litter box clean, then get a different brand or type of litter. She obviously doesn't want to use the kind you presently have for her for some reason.

Is the litterbox clean? Usually that is why cats dont pee in it. Also, what do you mean by discipline? Never hit a cat that makes things worse they learn to fear you. Has there been any changes lately? New pet, new child? I have never had that problem and I have two cats.

she could be sick, you might want to take her to the vet. My cat was doing it for awhile when i had 2 cats, she was jealous. make sure the litter box is cleaned out every day
