A Yahoo 360 question?
Going to my friends page on 360,in the column on the far right that says send message some of my friends icons are blue and some are purple. Are the ones that have highlighted purple on line at that moment.

No. The link changes to purple after you've visited their page. If you clear your browser's history and cache, it will probably change back to blue.
To find out if they are online, their smiley face icon will light up to yellow. However, some people can make their settings invisible which will keep their icon grayed out even though they are online.
The smiley icon is next to their name in your Contact list on the "Home" page, under their name in your "Latest from friends and favorites" area on the "Home" page, under their pic in your "Friends" module, and under their profile pic on their 360 page.
