Legal Immigrants Vs. illegal Immigrants?
I have noticed that i many post Amreicans are upset about the fact the illegal immigrants dont pay takes and all those things...So the issue is only towards illegal Immigrants or also towards legal immigrants? I want to know if the goverment creates a law, were all those immigrants (Illegal ones) have to report themselves and start paying their taxes and do everything the right way, would you be OK with that? Or is this a diversity issue where you are afraid that then U.S. will loose their cultural heritage? What is an "effective" solution that you as an American would like to suggest?
Yes I know that this is part of the bill that want to pass, but What I want to know is, if Americans support this, and if not what is another "effective" solution to the PRoblem.
I dont think that culture has anything to do here. It is about the law.. You can be a United States Citizen and still love your Hispanic culture..That is called Diversity and has existed here in the US for centuries. In my particular case, I have dual citizenship and grew up with both cultures. Nobody will ever take the loyalty and love that I have for both countries. And that is even after the Fact the the United States once invaded my other country. I actually arpoved the action. Culture is another issue. Following the Law is what is on the table right now.

LEGAL immigrants don't bother me in the least...in fact I LOVE them because they show me different cultures...and are PRODUCTIVE individuals who understand that Birth Control in this day and age is a GOOD thing.
ILLEGAL ALIENS are totally different. They hate America and would rather be back in their home country and only come here for the MONEY.
And effective solution would be enforcing our CURRENT laws and heavily fine the companies who hire illegal aliens...once they started doing that..most illegal aliens would leave on their own without any prompting. Make it hard for them to rent and buy American homes too would go a LONG way into solving the problems!

It's a lot of things that goes into why some are against illegal immigrants. For me, its the legal ramification. I see it being dangerous when we tolerate violating our laws. Its a slipery slope. When we tolerate violating this law, then we start tolerating other violations. The bill demonstrates this. It states that we are willing to accept illegal immigrants that has felonies. If we allow this batch of illegal immigrants in, it would give a signal for others to come. If we don't control our borders, we would have the same situation as France. The Unemployment rate would increase, racial tension would build, then a riot would erupt. As for Taxes, no matter how you could it, the illegal immigrants would not be able to pay enough taxes to self support themselves. The middle class pay for most of the benefits the poor recieve. The poor never carried their own weight in taxes. Not only illegal immigrants are poor and cost the middle class in tax dollars, but they would cost us more than the average poor. They have increase medical needs, and they would cost more in education, and translators and other miscellaneous cost. As for a lost of cultural heritage, its only a minor concern, because I do see some assimilating. They are slower than other ethnic groups to do so, and thats part of the problem. The large numbers they arrive here, allow them to resist assimilating. The problem I see is its disruptive to our economy. Even though, Hispanic small business has grown tremendously, it comes at a cost of other small business. Some of the other small business are just mom and pop stores, and can not handle the change in demographics. They are often too small to hire those who can speak spanish. Even if they learn how to speak spanish, they would not fully understand Hispanic culture. The hispanic business would grow larger than American ones, because they have the Hispanic customers and some of the non-hispanics. The greater size of the hispanics business would allow them to cut cost and drive the Non-hispanic business into bankruptcy. Previous immigration prevented this, by having a more balance immigration, where several immigrant groups would enter America. This is one of the reason African AMerican small business is failing.
I wouldn't mind so much of them staying, since the majority of damage they did to this country has been done already, If there was a fool proof way to prevent other illegal immigrants from arriving. I would like them to pay a large penalty. $5,000 is small compared to how much it cost some of them to enter the US. I would like to see some of the money from the penalties pay to help small business make a transition in the changing demographics.

It would be a good start, but i still feel they would have gotten away with being here illegally and breaking the law. I would almost be ok if they had to pay back taxes.. just think if a citizen didn't pay taxes for several years.. when the irs found out would they say.. don't worry about it.. don't worry about the money you owe us?? heck no, they would take everything from that person, possibly put them in jail and their life would be ruined. So why should it be different for someone who is here legally??? This amnesty plan had a fine and had people going back to start the process, but that was only for those who wanted to become usa citzens. I don't feel many of the illegals want to be citizens. They just want to be here, take advantage of everything and support their own country!!

Our immigration policies are not only based on the immigrant pay taxes. They are screened for many things before they can come here legally. One of which seems to be lacking in most of these illegals is the love of America. Illegals need to be sent home and apply the way all good immigrants do it.

If you are a legal resident of this country, you are legally bound to pay taxes and obey all of the laws of this nation. If your culture is more important to you than being an American, you should go home to your culture. If you are here illegally you'd better go home because no one wants you here. I think that should solve this dilemna!

Illegal immigrants do not deserve a "quick path to citizenship" because they are already here. If they are here, they are criminals, and should be deported and put back in their place in line BEHIND those immigrating here legally.
The effective solution is to follow our laws and immigrate here legally. PERIOD.

It's not the taxes at all. It's the fact that they are a burden to our own infrastructure...schools, housing, health care, etc. We already have the liberal democrats who are standing in line to get their handouts. We don't need more, and unfortunately, the illegals are just that.....more people looking for a handout.

There are TOO MANY immigrants here...Legal or illegal, we don't care, we just refuse them...
