When some one asks a question for just one answer (for example what is your" favorite movie of all time"

Some give more than one answer which gives them an advantage for the questioner to pick a result from the list of names But the person who gives just one name (which is only what the question states) has got less chance of winning .What do you think,is it fair?

The answer is the answer. It is not necessarily bad to give more than one, but one is asked for, then that is the answer to the question. One question; one answer.

In your example, my favorite movie is "Star Trek, The Wrath of Khan". There is only one answer and that is it.
