acura rdx 2007 overdue oil change question?
i am past 0% for oil change for my rdx. It was at 5% and next thing I knew- i lookd down and it was negative. I'm at negative 27. I have an appointment to get my oil change on Saturday. I drive about 40 miles round trip to work - so will basically put 120-130 more miles on it before the oil change. Should I not drive the car? will this hurt my engine? Thank you very much for any help.

You are fine. The car companies but those stupid programs in the car to scare the customers into the service area where they can charge $50 for an oil change and tell you that you might need to change this or that out because it looks like it could become a problem later on.

you are supposed to change the oil every 3000 miles. at that point the oil should have well over 40% of its life left. you are beating on your new car. buy a kia next time.

change the oil as soon as possible you re OK lots of people exceed oil ch. longer. one time doesn't have much an effect ( unless you go 10000 mi ) its multiple over mileage that has a cumulative affect.

just get it done ASAP, no big deal really. The oil is fine for another 300 miles or more.
