Which would look better on a grad school application?

I'm planning to study abroad for a semester next spring, and because this is being funded through a scholarship from my university, I have a very limited amount of foreign institutions I can attend.

I'm majoring in English with minors in chemistry and philosophy (looking to go to grad school in history and philosophy of science or English literature), so I should be able to fill requirements no matter what I end up concentrating on while I'm abroad.

Australia and South Africa are among my destination options, and the schools I looked at there seem to have a focus in post-colonial literature... I have to think that such coursework will be beneficial.

Update:

On the other hand, there's an English-language program in Denmark that really attracts me. The course offerings are limited and only tangentially related to my goals (Kirkegaard, Hans Christen Anderson, Scandanavian literature), but it seems like a very unique experience and would give me travel opportunites in Europe that I'd never have otherwise.

Would the Denmark program still help me out, or would it just give the impression that I'm worried my majors give, that I'm non-commital about a field of study?

You are correct to think that the Denmark program would give the impression that you are not focused. The courses also sound a bit "fluffy," which is never good to have on one's transcript. If I were looking at a transcript with the Denmark courses, I would conclude that the student studied abroad for fun, not for serious academic reasons.

The postcolonial lit courses, wherever you take them, would be beneficial if you apply to an English grad program.

If you apply to a history and philosophy of science program, the postcolonial lit courses would not be a good addition to your application.

Are you going to get a level from a distant places college? Or are you going to take an replace software? they're 2 completely countless issues, and the outcomes, while regarded at with the aid of potential graduate faculties could be different. although, i think of that the two way, if this technique is "surprising", then any grad faculties might decide for to work out it. As for an replace software, they often look kindly upon that, as properly.

Denmark will look just fine on your resume. You are there to study. Australia is a close second. Some people think South Africa means low standards, so avoid it.
