Has anyone bought Pella windows from Lowes?
and if so how did they work out for you? I am considering getting the pella low-e windows.
did those of you who got the pella windows get the replacment windows (the ones that are a perfect box that attach to the studs) or the new installation windows (the ones that are also a box but they have the flange all around where about 30 screws attach to the inside of the wall and then you stucco over it). i just found a pella store a few miles from me so i will see if i can get the replacement windows instead of buying the new installation windows. hopefully the price n't to much of a difference. and thanks for all the quick responses.

My Parents got them...Great window...think about additional UV Film window treatment. If you have a lot of windows in the South and West exposure, it great cuts down on heat exposure. Cheap, easy to apply, and will save you on your cooling cost this summer.

I used to work in the Logistics Dept at Pella Corp in Pella, IA from '99 to '01...I have seen how much precision and testing goes into each of their designs before they ever hit the market, as compared to the competition...and believe me, if I could afford them, that's the ones I would have! If you ever get a chance, you should take a tour of the factory in IA...you'd be amazed! One of the tests they showed us, is they put each of the competitions' top window in a room with the basic Double-Hung Pella window, and the room is then heated to 150 degrees...they put an infrared camera so that you can see the heat emminating from the room through each window to show it's effectiveness, as you walk by each window on the outside of this room, you can see the heat from your face show up on the camera...and you can FEEL the heat coming through most of the windows, but NOT the Pella Window...I am not kidding, I would invest in them, if I had the money for them! I have never heard of any complaints concerning the quality!

We have been in construction for almost 30 years. In the past ten years we have used Pella windows alot. They are a quality product. They are also cheaper than the window brand considered the "best" in our area, (Tn), but Pella has turned out to Be the Best. So go for it. You will not be making a bad decision.

Hi,
We purchased our house 3 years ago. The previous owners had installed Pella windows. They have the mini blinds in between the glass. The are double tilt and are great. The outside is white vinyl and the inside is wood to match the woodwork which I HATE; but they are great windows. Our other house was brand new. It had the tilt windows; and they were crap....they were cheap. The broke and were junk. go with the Pella!
Good Luck

My parents bought pella windows from lowes a couple summers ago and they love them. Very solid units and the company replaced a latch for free after it broke. No complaints whatsoever.
