Good hotel near transportation?

I'm going to a conference that is at the Hilton Chicago (720 South Michigan Ave.). The hotel is booked already while I'm there so I would like to stay somewhere else near a train/subway station that can get me to the hotel each day easily. Does anyone have any recommendations for specific hotels or specific train stations that I should be looking around?

Thanks in advance!

Update:

I'm not asking for places to eat. Nor am I staying at the Hilton. I need to go to the Hilton everyday so I need to stay at a hotel near a station that can get me downtown easily.

If money is no object (i.e. the company is paying for the hotel) then you are in the heart of the downtown area. There are a number of hotels within walking distance of the Hilton and Towers.

If you are being conscious about money, depending on your budget, you may have to stay a little bit further out of downtown...then you should consult the RTA Trip Planner which could help you get to your destination.

In both cases, check out www.hotels.com....put in Chicago....then click the landmarks option and look for hotels near Grant Park or Millenium Park as these are the closest to the Hilton and Towers. For hotels not in the area consult the Trip Planner to find out how far you are....in some cases it might be easier to walk or take a quick cab ride to the Hilton and Towers.

    Good luck!

Where you're staying is right in the heart of town... and a good place to eat is right down the street. Ditka's Chophouse.
