That is why legal immigrants should not support illegals just because they may be from the same country. You should support the US and the laws here, above illegals who do not. You came here for a reason and you did the right thing. The illegals may have the same reason, but did the wrong thing. You should not support them because of that.

This is an interesting question. In my experience, most legal immigrants are more outspoken in condemning illegals than American citizens are. It makes sense if you think about the fact that someone who goes to all the trouble to apply for a U.S. work visa, pays their visa fees, gets taxes taken from their wages, and constantly monitors their behavior to make sure they obey the laws (so their visas aren't revoked) has a great deal more animosity toward illegals than even the average American citizen. After all, they didn't get a free ride for breaking American laws and they resent those who demand that kind of treatment.

Many now-legal immigrants came here illegally themselves and were lucky enough to find an employer willing to sponsor them for citizenship. They know what their fellow immigrants go through in trying to work hard and find a better life. Illegal immigrants, like any other group of people, are a mixed bag. Most are just here to work hard and provide a better life for themselves and their families. If they knew a way to do that legally, they would do it.
Most people who badmouth illegal immigrants aren't even familiar with the process of becoming naturalized. Without a sponsor for citizenship in the form of an employer or family member, it is pretty much impossible. Immigrants, such as my boyfriend, who are Permanent Residents now, understand this, and they understand the plight of illegals. They support them because they likely have been through the same thing themselves.

One thing you cannot assume is the fact that most of the 12 million "illegal" immigranst have been here for a very long time. you probably assume the all came here in the last 5 years, not true. But even it the legal immigrants think it is not fair, there nothing that can be done with those how have come here illegaly, not even deporting them is practible or possible. the only thing to do is to make them legal. they are doing anything but marching, the government is trying to pass this bill.

I stick with them because I feel they are right not because they look like me. I have said this each time on an immigration issues, if they were Italian or German like me and coming in illegally I still would not support this bill.

Sovereignty is the exclusive right to exercise supreme political (e.g. legislative, judicial, and/or executive) authority over a geographic region, group of people, or oneself. A sovereign is the supreme lawmaking authority, subject to no other. Thus the legal maxim,
There is no law without a sovereign.
So when it {U.S.} took our sovereignty the U.S. laws cease to exist according to the Mexican eye!
U.S. broke Mexican sovereignty when it took my Mexican lands!
