Have you ever read a book, then seen the movie, and liked the movie more?

Update:

What movie/book was it?

It has never happened to me, I'm always disappointed.

Yes... I read The Devil Wears Prada, and didn't much care for the book.

A couple months later I saw the movie, and was surprised at how much BETTER it was than the book!

    It's rare, but it happens!

This happened to me only once, and I was very surprised as it is so rare. Usually, it is the movie that disappoints, but in the case of The Princess Bride I enjoyed the movie so much more than the book. Maybe it is because I saw the movie before I read the book.

Yeah Practical Magic, the book and the movie are so different except for the were both the same story line just different settings. But i still think the movie was so much better, and i prefer to read a good book then to watch TV or a movie

No i never liked the movie more ever. I recently read Angels and Demons and then the DaVinci Code - i did not like the movie. Memoirs of a Geisha i read and then watched the movie - didnt like it. I cant remember any books that i read although i did a lot of them like when i was younger i read Roald Dahl's books and didnt like the movies.

I guess they are not as descriptive and people don't capture the whole scene and every effort that is made in an image in the movie to make it real and rather take it for granted. Like if someone is showing a gang fight it will be based in a neighbourhood that reflects that and we take it for granted, where as in a book we feel everything that is in place of that scene we are looking at

No. I read the book The Relic and saw the movie about a year later and was totally disappointed. The book was way better.

Jaws was the one for me. The book was good but there were tons of other things going on in the town in the book that would have made the movie boring and annoying. Spielberg did a great job on the movie.

It was Eragon, I liked the book more, but the movie helped me visualize the characters better, even though some of there characters looked totally different than they were described!

Cyrano de Bergerac (1990) French with English subtitles. Reading how Cyrano stabs Valvert isn't nearly as good as watching him.
