Illegals aren't taking middle America's jobs. Your friend the government is doing that for you and to you!
One-half of American taxpaying families make $25,000 and less.
Only 12.3 million in this country of 132 million who file tax returns make $100,000 or more. Of those 655,000 earn more than $200,000 , and 9,677 average 26.5 million a year and got the largest tax cuts!
I would say middle income America is largely gone! The average salary in the USA is $44,000 for a family, and you aren't going to live many places on that meager income!
Thank the Republicans and big business for your demise!
We are becoming a 3rd world country for the profit of a meager 2.5 million wage earners!
No one said the rich aren't getting richer! Please tell me how you translated the rest as your statement doesn't make sense with the figures!
In 1967 there were 200 million people and 33 years later there are 300 million in the US! One might expect the numbers to rise, or fall, as the case may be!
Just 33 years later, we've reached a new milestone: 300 million.
Here are just a few glimpses into American life at 100, 200, and 300 million people.
Price of a new home
2006: $290,600
1967: $24,600 ($149,147 in 2006 dollars)
1915: $3,200 ($64,158 in 2006 dollars)
Cost for a gallon of regular gas
2006: $3.04 (as of Aug. 7)
1967: 33 cents ($2 in 2006 dollars)
1915: 25 cents ($5.01 in 2006 dollars)
Price of milk
2006: $3 gallon
1967: $1.03 gallon ($6.24 in 2006 dollars)
1915: $ .36 gallon ($7.22 in 2006 dollars)
Cost of a first-class stamp
2006: 39 cents
1967: 5 cents
1915: 2 cents
So don't compare apples and oranges. Those figures mean absolutely nothing in terms of the here and now! Except we are not better off! if you bothered to do the math!

H1b Visa's are given to people from India and China
These are jobs that range from 30,000 to 150,000 or more per year jobs
Most of them are used for Technology Jobs
Example:
Computer engineer job that pays 80,000 to a American Citizen is given to a Person from India for 40,000
same job
That is why Microsoft especially and all other technical companies want to increase or make unlimited visa's available
I would consider this the middle class.
Lawmakers including candidates for President want this increased or doubled.
They get money from these companies to get elected, the companies underpay for the positions to make a bigger profit
and
The American Worker is out of a Job.
Watch Lou Dobbs he continually has segments on war against the middle class. Thank goodness someone is paying attention

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but the middle class is in no danger, except for maybe becoming too wealthy.
Go look at the US Census data I've posted below. Even after inflation (2nd table), all income groups, including the poor and middle class, are doing BETTER than 10 years ago, 20, 30, etc.
In every measurable way, we are all better off then previous generations. Our houses are bigger, our cars are nicer, we take nicer vacations, our environment is cleaner, we're better educated, our medical care is better, etc. Middle class is a moving goal post. It keeps getting to mean a richer lifestyle.
This disappearing middle class cr@p is foisted upon you by the politicians who want you to think your plight is caused by someone who is wealthy, and they must be made to pay!
Truth be known, the wealthy are only guilty of creating wealth, the same as you are, only they do it better.

I always laugh when I see Cons telling liberals to move to Canada. Well, if they want to live in a country with a huge gap between the rich and the poor, with almost no middle class, they can move to Mexico!
This is my biggest concern and why I hope a Dem gets into the White House.

I would be thankful to even make the 'so-called' middle class income of 50,000+ per year.

Are you kidding? We're about there now. Look at it this way - only 50% of the people pay any income taxes at all.

The word "middle class" is another liberal term to label the under paid and less privileged. Don't believe those that tell you the middle class is shrinking, its not
