Going on vacation... what should I store my medication in?
We're going on vacation for 5 days and 4 nights and we're going to be doing a lot of travelling around (riding in a car) going to different places. I have several different medications that I must take with me and I am worried about them sitting in a bag in a hot car for too long and getting ruined. What can I put them in to keep them dark, cool, and dry (which I assume is the best way to keep most meds)?

Do not remove from container! This is illegal! Keep the medications in the container that they come in. I add tissue inside of my medications or cotton balls when traveling. Store in the shade, up front in the vehicle. Do not put medications in a cooler. Do not mix two bottles together! Keep in their own containers even if you have to take two bottles of the same type. This is ILLEGAL in most states that you travel through.

Use one of those soft sided, insulated lunch bags. They're flexible and you can stuff them into other bags or under seats, etc.
Keep a cool pack in it if you will be in very hot climates, otherwise, the bag itself will probably be enough to keep out the warmth.

The glove compartment may work. It's dark, and typicallly stays cool.
Otherwise, you may want to bring a little cooler and put a small amount of ice inside. Not enough to freeze the medication, but enough to keep it below 80F.
