Have you ever kept something so someone else couldn't have it?

I'm not talking about something you don't want at all, but something you could live with or without.

I think everyone has. I especially do it with my old shirts from middle school. I keep them from my 10 year old cousin only because she messes up clothes very badly and I never really have before. Hence much of my stuff is still in pretty good condition and don't want her to have it for that reason.

If I wasn't sure if I wanted it, I would keep it unless it would mean a lot more to the other person. Giving is one of the most wonderful feelings, it gives you a shot of adrenalin that keeps increasing the more you give. To see someone else be happy about something that may not mean much to me, is a gift in itself.

If you don't care either way, give it away, and see how it makes you feel.

I hide chocolate candy bars so my kids can't have them. Then after they go to bed, I break into them. I feel very guilty, but my husband thinks it's the funniest thing ever!
