When people as questions that you find interesting, you reward them with a star. It gives you a chance to let that person know what you think about his/her question.
I asked the same question when I first started. Someone gave me a star to "get me started" and I will do the same for you.
To give a star, you just press on the star under the question. I give stars a lot, because there are a lot of interesting questions

Wen u star a question you are saying it logical and its a good question or that its hard\
This lets all of the contacts no b/c it shows up in a segment on your screen the more stars youll have the more answers you will get Now really ther is no point b/c there are many answers to a question but only one tight one unless its on opinion like polls and surveys

When you receive stars on Yahoo! Answers, you sometimes get points.
I once got 4 points on one of my best answers, boosting my score by 14 points.
You can give a star to someone's question by clicking on the small star below the question and/or it's description, to mark their question as interesting, and that particular question will be added to the 'Starred Questions' tab on your profile page.
I guess you're a bit of a newbie to Yahoo! Answers, then. I've had it for about four months now, and less than a month ago I realised what 'Stars Received' means! You'll soon get the hang of Answers, though. Good luck.

Well, you star people when you want to have the question you starred on your star list. This is to come back to any answers you want to know and if they helped you in any way like if there was a website that you wanted to know from various people you would have it on your star list. Good Luck hope i helped!

yes it is when you see a question that you like or wanna keep an eye on, you star it. it depends on the popularity of the question. if you go to polls and survey, thats where alot of people star quiestions. you can only have 100 stars a day. and if you see a a question, you will have a star underneath the question, where report abuse is. here, have a star. no havefun lol.
