no, never. My career is a very important part of my identity. I'm glad I found a man who appreciates that.

Depends. If when we were first married and my husband had to move to work somewhere where I couldn't find work, sure.

I became a SAHM after our child was born two years after we were married; I have two degrees and had a great career, but we agreed on making the sacrifices to have a stay at home parent, and I was the higher income earner. So I didn't 'give up my career' - it just changed from educator to mom - which is just another kind of educator.

Yes, most definately, as it is the heart which is more important than money.

The saying really is true, money can't buy happiness.

    Love wins =]

I couldn't possibly pass up true love. Love is completeness, happiness, and togetherness. Career is money.

Though admittedly I do not want to sacrifice career to have children. (I don't want kids).

I did-I had a great career in Chicago. I quit my job, sold my car, sold my condo, and married a man who is German and I now live in Germany.

A job, car, condo, or any other possession does not hug, kiss, talk, and every other thing that a person that loves you does-give it up for love, and your life will be more fulfilling!

It's too much to ask of anyone unless it means the other needs to move for a very important reason and you can make a future there

possibly...my fiance is a photographer, and I'd give up my career to work the business, but not just to hang out at home.

No. Love is a splendid thing, however, it does not pay the rent.
