Book Recommendation?

Someone came to me recently and asked me if there was a book out like an Atheist "study bible". In that I mean a book that actually goes through the KJV of the Bible line by line and argues against the passage. Or a book that at least argues the bible by verse so the student could sit down and have a Bible in one hand and the refuting book in the other and go through the bible passage for passage. Since I didn't have an answer for him, I thought I'd ask if any of you knew of a book like this.

I am reading a very interesting book called Misquoting Jesus by Bart Ehrman. It gives the history of the different texts that were used in the KJV, and tells where some changes were made.

No, I don't know of one. Why don't you take the bible and argue againsts it's passages line by line, and publish it yourself? Put your own opinion out there, it's better than reading someone elses.

I've never seen one printed. Why? It's obvious. Read the Bible cover-to-cover, & you'll be stirred to salvation. Tell your friend to read the Bible cover-to-cover. He doesn't need some other book. Then he'll not only discover the Word of God, but he'll also be stirred to salvation, something everyone needs.

    Great question!

However you would never be able to produce a book of the sorts that could accomplish what you are looking for. Here are some reasons why:

An atheist can't find God for the same reason a thief cannot find a policeman

An atheist is the fellow who shakes his fist and defiies the God he says doesnt exist

I have read several stories where people studied the Bible with the purpose to totally refute it and they became followers of Jesus instead and became convinced that He said who He claimed to be: "THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE".

Never heard of one. I would be interested in seeing if someone could actually go through that research (truly researching) and still have doubts about God and Jesus.

I don't know about that, but I often use this site.
