CAN you help end DNA ANALYSIS confusion ?

the first may be correct, or both could be correct depending on the type of testing used. there are several dna test methods currently in use with various labs claiming their method is best. there are genetic differences in the dna of asian and american indians, but i don't know if all the dna tests will show the differences. from what i have read, each test has problems and is not as exact a science as most would like, especially when those convicted on dna evidence claim it isn't their dna since there may be a few discrepencies between methods.

Human DNA is a very large set of molecules and the current information about the sequences and their meaning is still under debate.

There are genetic markers of Native Americans (people indigenous to North and South America) which are very much different than those of Eastern Asians. Other markers are very similar or even identical. The determination can be made if enough makers are looked at. The more markers, the higher the overall cost of the testing.

The best approach is to look at both nuclear DNA and mtDNA (which comes only from the mother). If you spend less than $500 or $600, then you are not going to get reliable data (not enough markers were looked at).

Realize that legal paternity testing usually runs about $400, but these are based upon only 18 to 20 markers and do not include the mtDNA.

Different from what? each person has a unique DNA sequence, so of course if you compare any two people, they will be different. However, the differences are very minor. On average, any two people will have one polymorphism for every 50,000 base pairs sequenced.

Neither one will get you enrolled.

Tribal council, do not recognize DNA as enrollment materials.

It's yet another attempt to say that WE came across the land bridge completely forgetting the fact that we DO have artifact that date pre ice age.
