Homemade laxatives...see details?
I am in desparate need of a natural laxative. My pharmacy is out of Sorbitol and I was wondering if anyone knew of anything that could be made from home that would work good.
Serious replies only please. This is no laughing matter.
Just so yall know, no, I am NOT abusing laxatives! I have intestinal problems in which I need to use a laxative from time to time to keep things going the way they should. I only use it about twice a year thankfully. And right now I am extremely bloated and uncomfortable. So, before acusing me of doing something harmful to my body, you might want to think about the full story first.
To the rest of you, I thank you so much for your advice in advance.

A cup of coffee with a banana usually works for me. You could also take a couple of tablespoons of olive oil or eat a salad with a dressing of olive oil and lemon juice.
And make sure you are drinking enough water also since this can cause dry hard stool.

Bananas work well! Most ANY fruit will do the trick, however.
Apples! An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
THIS is the reason why. It keeps you regular! Enjoy!
Prunes work really well too but they can be a little rough on the taste buds for some.
Yep. Shoving some soap up your butt WILL work QUICKER than consuming some fruit! No doubt there, but would you rather have your friends walking in on you cutting up an orange or shoving a piece of soap up your bum? *laughter*

The ole timey mountain method. A slither of soap. Use it as a suppository in rectum. I kicks in almost immediately. Moisten the slither, deposit and be ready. It relaxes the gland and allows the bowels to expel. Don't abuse, but this is the method used on infants. Let me know how it goes, my little daughter had a time learning how to use her bowels and I had to use this method. After that she went well on her own.

Sounds like a weird question to me. Are you abusing laxatives? If not, rhubarb is a natural laxative, just get some stalks, boil it and add sugar substitute, they have sorbitol packets at the grocery store.

Oranges and prunes and if that does not help then you could try castor oil which will have you dashing before you know it, so make sure the washroom is very close.
