Where's the Fundie outcry against "unequally yoked" marriages? Why don't they want a law?
"Unequally yoked" would be a marriage where the two participants don't have the same religious beliefs. The Bible specifically says not to do it in the New Testament.
Actually, I think that this is one of the few real take-home messages to be found in the Bible: It's not a good idea to marry someone too many standard deviations outside of your religious beliefs and/or religious zeal.

Christians can be married to anyone that the Lord has designed for us...they don't necessarily have to be Christian...the bible says our faith can bring grace to a non-believing spouse:
1 Corinthians 7:13
And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him...For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband.
...Also, Paul spoke to folks in 2 Corinthians about "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers", but his words may not be in regards not to marriage specifically...
...but about not giving up the yoke that Jesus has for us as Christians because of another person…
...being unequally yoked is to have a yoke that is unbalanced, thus it is difficult to plow with...
...its like “don't choose the uneven yoke just like those of this world, but stick with Jesus's instead, no matter what...

Yes it is sin to marry and be unequally yoked, meaning not being on the same page with God spiritually. And what do you mean us fundies arent crying about that? WE speak up about that and every other sin but we are shouted down by athiests and those ppl who believe grace allows them to sin all they want and still be saved. The gift of salvation is conditional. Remember when God tells us to warn us not to lose the prize which HE has give to us. Is Jesus still saved ??? I think not. You most obey God to be saved, and us true Christians, no matter how you label us, evangelical or fundies, whatever, will always stand up and call sin as sin, and the ones that are smart will listen and go to God and begin to pray and study and know God for themslves.
And, yes we have much zeal and passion about this and any other sin. ITs why we try to warn you. PPL will say unequally yoked means marrying outside your face. Hogwash, lies of the devil to promote racism. God says we are all equal to Him, we are of one race, the HUMAN race. Bein unequally yoked means we arent both equally yoked with Jesus Chrsit. Yes, the Bible is clear not to do tht, but how many will hear God today/??? ON a few, and we must keep living the truth and speaking it boldly, without fear or compromise, to warn the world. JEsus is coming soon. preach on Chritians, and let noone silence you. Gods ppl wont be silent even with threats of death. We will die for Jesus just as He died for us.
How can we do any less????? and He is coming soon. Which side are you on?????

Well, liberal humanistic secularists only want to destroy anything that is found in Scripture. Since marriage between a man and a woman and marriage between a man and multiple women are found in Scripture and are given as examples used by righteous men and women, of course the liberal humanistic secularists want to destroy them by promoting what Scripture calls an abomination and that is homosexuality. But in the end, Scripture says that it is God that determines who is and who is not married and He alone, so all of these liberals and states that try to regulate marriage are infringing on God's territory and will pay the price for that. If God says a man and a woman or a man and women are married, then do you really need a certificate form the state to prove that God has approved of it? Let the liberals defile themselves, let us busy ourselves with following the Lord.

As a fundie, I tell people all the time not to get themselves unequally yoked in marriage.

Really. My husband doesn't feel that way, he actually likes being as you put it "unequally yoked". He says it makes life more interesting being married to someone who doesn't share his exact beliefs than someone who does.

I agree that one should not be yoked unevenly. When my wife and I were dating we had to have a long discussion about that since she was Catholic and I was Reformed Presbyterian.

Too hard to define legally what is the "same" belief. Besides, it would probably be struck down on First Amendment grounds.

I don't know... I do know that I am a "fundie" as you say, and my last girlfriend was unsaved (raised christian but so far away from it it isn't even funny) and that was a total fiasco, so after that I swore off unsaved women... I will not date OR marry an unsaved woman.

I am a Fundamental Christian. I don't want a law to stop Marriage but to stop Sin.

I say we ban atheists marriages too and make it retroactive!
That way I can leave my wife and get a new one :)
