How come when I talk to friends on msn, they go offline without saying bye bye?
This has happened many times to me so far. I get a bit disappointed that they didn't say bye bye to me. Because usually I say bye bye to them. Or when they are online but I ask them a question, they don't reply to me, then they just go offline? : (

1. They don't know how to appropriately end a conversation.
2. They had to leave abruptly.
3. Their computer froze.
4. They don't feel like saying bye.
Lots of potential reasons...why not just ask?!

I will say the few times I have been on any instant messenger I find it difficult to finish "talking". Maybe these people have found this true as well and instead of making up a reason to leave and saying good bye they just click off. Why don't you ask them?

I do it sometimes too...it's not intentionally mean, but sometimes I just get distracted with something else. I'd rather just leave when I want to leave than worry about saying bye to everyone I'm talking to..

Are these people truly friends that you have in you day-to-day life or are they folks you met online? If they are people you know well, that is really rude. Otherwise, they probably are just looking to chat and when they get bored they move on. Since you are not really friends, it shouldn't really matter.

Maybe they were doing something else on the computer and didn't notice it before turning the computer off.

They lack basic manners as simple as that

I find that's very annoying as well, but I guess many people don't find it offensive. I wish more people were like you and me.
