Two words: Fast Food. Get rid of it and make people cook at home, that would help things out a lot. 50 years ago there was no such thing as McDonalds. Also, lack of excercise.

Also, people did not have computers and things like that that can replace jobs. They had to work, and physically work. More physical exercise. Now a days we sit behind a desk till 5 and then go to dinner and watch TV every night. No physical exercise.

we have discouraged people from eating fats and encouraged them to eat carbs.
that with chemical engineering of crops that deplete nutrients from our food has kept people in a constant state of malnutrition even tho they are fat.
then couple that with pharmaceuticals gone wild causing more problems that adversely affect proper body function and you have one sick country falling on its knees with the medical industry keeping them there.
so the answer is mis information and turning americans into pharmaceutical/agricultural guinea pigs.
and of course dependence on cars - the suburbs don't help nor does cutting PE from school curriclulum help.

Too much carbs and sugar in our diets, many cereals and bread say they´re helthy when indeed they just make you fat, flour doesn´t give you anything but tummy, and we don´t take any natural food, today food is procesed and things, so our diet is pour in real nutrients for us, ;D
