Gordon Brown and his promises?

Is it just me? Or was Tony Blair saying the exact same things ten years ago?

I seem to remember recieving a card through the post ten years ago (Does anyone else remember getting one of these?). It was about the size of a credit card with Tony Blair's pledges on it about improving schools and hospitals.

Is Gordon Brown putting new packaging on the same old lies?

I want to know which of Gordon Browns policies David Cameron would object to.

It seems that the parties have exactly the same manifesto. I want some differences and therefore a real choice.

Well said Alberto, no way are hospitals better. My husband worked for the NHS for 15 years.Last November he walked out, and so have many skilled staff.

Why? Because the fat cat bosses get huge pay rises, yet the maintenance staff are owed many thousands of pounds in back pay because the NHS are stalling pay banding the staff and blaming it on the government.

Result? They get in these foreign workers from Thailand, Poland etc to work for peanuts. They are happy as it's a lot of money to them.

The hygiene in hospitals is so poor, patients keep getting sent home because of hospital bugs etc.

Ooh, you've got me started now.....

Tarting up old policies and ideas is worthless unless you deliver the goods. I remember a pamphlet coming out, explaining what to do during an emergency, like a terrorist attack etc. That went straight in the bin too. They use to do things like this during the war, its called propaganda!. So no, nothing has changed, only the glossy campaign of fear, delivered to you by your Chief antagonist - New Labour!.

Many hospitals are better though; more money than ever is spent on the NHS. Some aspects of education have improved, others are much he same.

I dunno... governing is a journey, not a destination. Whatever a govt gets right, there are stilll 1000 things to sort out. Talking about the same old things does not bother me, what I want to hear is who has the best ideas ?
