Hazard Lights = Exempt form The Law?
Have you ever noticed that when someone is knowingly violating the Law such as parking in a Fire Lane, No Parking Zone, Double Parked, Lane Of Traffic, Etc... They turn on their Hazard Light and do it any way?
Do they think this makes them exepmt from the Law?
I have stopped and issued a citation to a person in the fire lane for this and they got Livid with me. Explaining "But I had my hazard lights on!!!"

Yes, all the time!!! Its like they are saying " Hey, I know I'm doing something illegal, but I'm doing it quickly so it doesn't really count!" LOL It drives me nuts..
It just makes you want to teach a class about how to use them correctly!

Many people do not understand the purpose of hazard lights. They feel these are emergency, or park anywhere lights.

Oh I've heard that one more times than I can count. I have called them "park anywhere you want" lights for years. The other one I always liked was a speeder telling me "But I was only going a little faster than the speed limit." The answer was always the same. "It's a limit, not a suggestion..."

No it does not... neither does leaving someone in the car or just leaving it on. No Parking means just that... and includes no stopping, standing, waiting, etc.
I give $34.00 tickets for it several times a day...

well if your an actual cop (which i doubt) then shouldn’t you be worried about the real criminals instead of someone that had to run in a store for 5 seconds? I personally think you cops are cowards. You sit out there and give stupid traffic tickets when there are murderers and drug dealers roaming the streets. Kids are taking guns to school, women are getting raped, children are getting abused and you are worried that some retard has his 4 ways on sitting in a fire lane. If there was a fire and the fireman needed that car moved that truck will push that car right out of the way. So instead of being a coward and worrying about something so petty like that why don’t you get out there and do your job. Your supposed to "PROTECT and SERVE" not harass because you are bored. Is it legal for a cop to speed with out his lights on? NO but who cares?
If you are truly a cop and you are asking this question then you just proved my point that you are a waste of tax dollars because your not worried about doing good. Your just there for the pay check and the power trip. A cop that worries about these issues are no better than the waste of life politicians taking away our freedoms. We as Americans bust our butts at work harder than any other country. We work longer hours and you are going to give some person a stupid ticket for that? Besides why are you in a parking lot? shouldnt you be out there looking for bad guys?
