What current candidate from each party best represents you point of view?

I know that the U.S. is currently very polarized politically, but assuming not every politician is a radical ideologue, what current candidate would you choose from each party that best represents your view point. Please list one from each party regardless of your political leanings.

From the Democrats, former Senator Mike Gravel. I've been supporting Sen. Gravel since I first learned he was running.

From the GOP, the closest would be Ron Paul.

I remember turning 18 and how exited I was to vote too. Making an educated vote is a self motivated responsibility. Mainly buy not voting because of gender, pigmentation of skin etc. Fortunately for you you are in the Internet generation and have everything you need to know right at your finger tips. I would advise you to go to you tube and spend as much time as you can watching video on all of the candidates.

Democrats: Kucinich, though having grown up in Ohio, I like him more as a legislator than as an executive.

Republican: Ron Paul is the only one who seems to have any real convictions. I can go along with a principled libertarian, though my faith in market-based solutions is tempered by the disasterous results of regulation in the S&L and energy industries, among others.

My current pick is Dennis Kucinich, and I have a feeling I will stay with him through the primaries now, even though they are so far away. He voted against the Iraq War resolution, has voted against funding this disastrous war, is for universal health care and other things I like.

Ron Paul for the Republican side, cause he is a Libertarian in Republican clothing. He voted against the war, too.

    GOP - Ron Paul

Demo - Mike Gravel or Dennis Kucinich

But we need more viable national parties. The so-called "Big Tent simply allows the stupid political circus to continue.

You really caught me red-handed. I think as a democrat, I may put in my list Mrs. Clinton but doesn't satisfy me with all her issue. I used to like her "Universal Health" when she was the first lady. But from Republican, I still didn't decide, may be I need a little time. I will give a little credit for the X New York Mayer because of his calm leadership during Sept 11, 2001. But still I don't see political clarity. I think, this is for now.

Kucinich on 99% of the issues, and Ron Paul on 85% of the issues. Why, because they really do their research on the Iraq issue. Neither one of them voted to give Bush the power to go to war with Iraq. And, both of them say to get out of Iraq now. And, neither one of them take money from corporations. I respect them both ALOT for that.
