For any / all medical professionals :?

Which job is more rewarding ,a CNA or a CMA ?

For the past year I have been attending med. school and now I have come to a crossroad between becoming a CNA or becoming a CMA .

My goal is to work directly with patients in a hospital. Although I do not mind working front office. Any insight ? Thankx

CMA pays much better and it's definitely better for your back! I have been a CNA for 5 years and quite frankly I am tired of it. I love my people but it is hard work, you have to clean up the messes patients make (ever have to clean a bathroom after a patient has finger painted it with menses or poo or both?) I would definitely encourage you to go for CMA.

    both can be rewarding, however,

the cma job may give you more medicine knowledge for your future position.

having a positive knowledge of the medicine, what it can do,

why it is prescribed regular dosages, can be a real bonus in your future.

the cna job can also give you some up-front knowlege on wound care. transferring patients, diets, etc. but my money goes with the cma.
