Why would you vote for Fred Thompson?

If you are a Republican, his resume isnt as good as the other canidates, he isnt as smart as the other canidates, and he has had relation problems in the past. I dont see him as a true conservative, i think Ron Paul is more of a conservative than him. No i wont be voting Ron Paul either, but just as an example. He isnt charismatic especially for being an actor. He looks like an old baseball mit. He doesnt even look friendly. He will do nothing for the enviroment, for example he is very skepitcal that global warming is real and caused by humans. He has few stances on issues. He bent the political actions committee so his son can have smuggled cuban cigars. He flip flopped 2 times on pro choice, instead of Romney changing it once. He says he is all about Federalism, but doesnt always go by it like a hippocrit. Please tell me why in the world you would pick Fred Thompson over another Rep canidate. My pick is Mitt Romney, so if you want to bash my canidate, go for it.

i'm not a conservative, liberal nor any occasion. on the main i'm very suspicious of Republicans over all "events". so some distance as Thompson working for President I basically had to guarantee my chum for the hundredth time it replace into not a shaggy dog tale. I even have shown data that many supporters have self assurance his appearing profession on regulation and Order as a prosecutor provides presidential point journey to his campaign. he's wishy washy at terrific on subjects and has no stable or coherent platform to stand on or perhaps start to describe. No, i know i will nto vote for Fred Thompson.

I'm not voting for him, but to answer your question, here is what American politics has gotten to:

he will do the least amount of harm.

We already know what the others want to do, and every single objective they have COSTS MONEY. Who has money? Us. They NEVER end a program, NEVER make the government smaller (Billary did by gutting the military).

There's a reason the legislature has a confidence rating 15 points lower than the President, it's because they're all in it for themselves, power, money..... but not for their constituents, or the US.

Thompson would be a place holder. No hits, no runs, no ERRORS. He doesn't stand for anything, and doesn't stand AGAINST anything.

Heck, I may have talked myself into voting for him!! (but probably not)

There isn't a Dem or Rep running currently (or suggested like Fred or big Al) that I will vote for. Not a leader in the group.

As for Ron Paul, he understands the middle east and what the US has done to that region (and Africa) better than any of the current batch of candidates ESPECIALLY Giuliani. You need to expand your reading horizon. (I'd vote for HIM but he's a STRICT constitutionalist and believes in isolationism)

They won't put NONE OF THE ABOVE on the ballot because she would win.......every time.

Because I agree with him that global warming IS NOT caused by humans. I think he MAY make a good canidate but can't say dor sure if I will vote for him untill I learn more about him

  • Ron Paul is extremely conservative, but he's clueless when it comes to the war.

The sad truth about elections is that you have to vote for someone not just for their principle, but for their chances of beating the democratic candidate. Fred Thompson seems to be the best compromise between electability and conservatism.

the reason i would vote for Fred is because he won the primary and is the republican nominee in the general election. i wouldn't vote for a dem if my life depended on it

    I sure don't want him!

I really would like to see Joe Biden make it (unfortunately, I don't think that will happen).

  • 1 decade ago

I wouldn't since he isn't in my district... I live in a different country. Thanks for the 2 points, though!
