Currently it is legal to discriminate against people based on their past mistakes. Even though the person has already PAID and PAID and PAID again through the judicial system - the rest of society seems bent on making life a living hell for people who have a record. This means finding a place to live, finding a job, and rebuilding your life. All this and we wonder why people re-offend? Hmmm, I don't.

What did you do??
It's not a joke or an insulting question...but most times it depends. The bigger the felony, the smaller your chances of renting a place. But of course, that would also depend on what kind of place you're renting. Most people dont care if you're renting in a not-such-a-good-neighborhood area. So, if it's a crappy place, you need not worry so much. And, actually, a record doesnt really mean much when it comes to renting a place. I'd be worried if I were buying a house or something...but renting is no big deal.

Some apts have different requirements usually 9 times out of ten they will do a credit check and some due a background check it would be wise to be honest about your felony if the place your wanting to live requires a background check because if you dont tell them you more than likely will have to look elsewhere hope this helped

Thats a very Good question I know by viewing others cases its very very very hard to get a JOB so I would think that it would be hard to rent out.
The truth? the way the justice system is. If you get a felony no matter what the class you should Kill yourself or move to Canada because its going to be very hard to find your place in america

Typically, the landlords aren't going to do a background check - just a credit check.
Don't worry about it.

No you just have to look for apt who do. You can find them in the Greensheet or just look them up on the Internet. But I can tell you right now it's not going to be luxury.

If they ask, just say no. They're not going to go to the courthouse and ask. If you are a registered sex offender you will have to by law say so. Otherwise don't worry and behave yourself.
