What should I do?

My brother and I share a one bedroom apartment. He has the bedroom and I sleep in the living room. Which is also where my computer is and the television aswell. Here is the trouble. He tends to fall asleep on the couch (the man can fall asleep in 10 seconds flat and often does) and he snores! I am talking about sawing wood here, which is distracting when I am trying to watch television or work on my computer. Now I know if we had a 2 bedroom place it would be a problem but we don't. I wake him up constantly and tell him to shut up and just go sleep in his bed but he merely grins at me or gives a little laugh and falls immediately back to sleep and a moments later he's snoring again. Now, if your suggestions involve violence or something disgusting "JOG ON" and don't bother responding. What can I do, he's told me to tell him what he's doing and he'll go to bed. But he does not and infact gets angry now when I tell him he's snoring.

Update:

I just DO not see the problem with just getting up and going to bed...I mean, if your tired enough to fall asleep wouldn't you want to be in bed? But no, he wakes up and say "I don't want to go to bed yet." WTF! Your already asleep, the only thing thats missing is your BED, so go get in it and leave me in peace.

If you've approached him nicely about it and he won't budge, you take over the bedroom and move him to the couch. Move your TV to the bedroom. This will be your private room then. You may suggest that he get checked for sleep apnea too. My Dad could wake up martians when he snored. Imagine having to grow up with a room on the opposite end of the house and not being able to sleep because of your dad snoring. He finally 4 years ago, went to the doctor about it. He no longer falls to sleep on the sofa, (which he also did for years) and there is no snoring. Of course I've long since moved out, but hey, there's a first time for everything. Tell your bro your concerned with his snoring because it could mean a serious medical problem. Go to the doc with him if you have too. My Dad has gotten nicer since he sleeps with a breathing machine at night.

Get a tape recorder and record him snoring. Let him listen to it. Tell him he has sleep apnea and needs to go to a doctor and get fixed. Also get his agreement that if he falls asleep on the couch and won't go to bed when you wake him the first time, that you get to make as much noise as you like, including turning up the tv to drown out his snoring. And, you can get him to agree that if he falls asleep on the couch, you get the bed. Finally, if he won't stop, move out. He'll miss your share of the rent money, and you can find a better roommate.

Why dont you just ask for you to have the room and he can sleep on the couch since he already does anyways. you can always put the computer into the bedroom if needed so you can use it since he snores and will disturb you while your on it

I don't think this is mean or anything, but record the snoring and play it when he's trying to do something... It'll be fun.
