if we were created by god.....?

God uses the simplest of things to confound the wise silly boy. God gave you a choice in the hopes that you would make the right one.

Remember that the society you and I live in only represents a very small part of human history. Throughout most human history adrenaline and flight or fight response was an extremely good thing. It still comes in handy when my ex-girlfriend comes around.

Consider this, would rather have someone love you and enjoy spending time with you because you wiped their memories and made them believe there was nothing better than you? Or would rather have someone who looked at everything and then decided they wanted to love you, be with you, and was fully aware of their decision? So why wouldn't God do the same thing?

This response is a bit cliche because it's used so often, but I've never found a way to successfully refute it.

Your primitive instincts are a result of sin. We are programmed as thinking, spiritual beings. We are not animals going around looking for the next meal who happens to be a little smaller than us. We have a conscience and basic moral code which God designed. Only some people violate that code. Again - SIN.

I believe that we are really Spirit beings.. we have been given the gift of a Physical body which has primitive instincts and our Spirit needs to learn how to control the Physical body...

God gave us Free Agency so that we would be able to choose what we wanted to do and He won't take that away from us.. but.. we do get a knowledge of right and wrong from the Light of Christ if we are willing to listen.. if we ignore it for too long.. we lose it and become deaf to the voice of the Holy Ghost.

Our God program is the light of Christ. When we are taught the Gospel we can feel if it is true.

Here is a non bible verse that has the method to us:

Behold, you have not understood; you have supposed that I would give it unto you, when you took no thought save it was to ask me.

But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your mind; then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right.

But if it be not right you shall have no such feelings, but you shall have a stupor of thought that shall cause you to forget the thing which is wrong.

It's interesting you don't want Bible verses. The only book that God tells us about Himself is not allowed to answer a question about God? Kind of illogical to me.

That leaves us with just our guesses.

Here is my guess. I think that God did not want to force us to love Him. He didn't make robots, but people and gave us a choice. If we want to know Him, we can find Him when we search for Him.

God made us but he also makes it very clear that he wanted us to be as free as possible. We are free to make our own choises and live as we choose. He gave us free reign to seek him as we choose. Those instincts are what kept people alive back in the day, now we just have to try to control them.
