You could do with another person in this. Wrap the cat firmly in a towel or blanket. If there is another person, get them to hold the cat, not too tightly but firmly enough, and tilt it so the cat's on it's back. Using one hand, open the eye, and with the other drop the medication into the eye quite close to the bottom eye lid.

If there's only you to do all this, wrap the cat as before and lie it on it's back on your lap with its head near your knees. put you forearm across the body and open the eye dropping the medication in with the other hand as before.

    Keep trying.

You can put some saline drops in your cats eye. It is safe to use (we use it to flush debri or infection out of animals eyes) for pets. Do it 2-3 times a day for a few days and see if it improves. If not it sounds like your cat either scratched her eye or something scratched it causing it to become red and watery (it is watery because that is the naturel way of the eye trying to flush it out) Your cat may have an ulcer on it's eye which would require an antibiotic ointment for your cats eye. DON'T use anything else besides the saline drops. If it isn't better in a few days, take her to the vet. They will most likely stain your cats eye to try to see a scratch or ulcer. Good luck!

Yes this is quite easy if there are two of you.

Tip her head back slightly and with one hand place your thumb below her eye and the first finger of the same hand above her eye and gently hold the lids open. With your other hand gently squeeze the dropper bottle just above her eye.

If there is only you then you can squat over her from behind on the floor close your knees to trap her there and gently lift her head up by placing your left hand under her chin, then stretch your fingers across to her her eye to open her eye lid and use your other hand to squeeze the dropper.

It's not too difficult but a devil to try to explain in writing to someone.

Hope this makes sense, just persevere you'll get there.

Good luck to your cat and I hope her eye gets better soon.

It's best if you have someone help you with this. You can have them hold them and scratch the cat under his/her chin and that will make her put her head back and then open her eye if you can and put in the drops. It might be a bit of a fight with a cat but don't give up. I had a hard time with my cat he is so stubborn and hard to get him to take meds when it's time.

Put her between your legs and hold tightly with the muscles there, then tip her head back, making sure her paws are not free to move, open her eye and but the drops in her eye, she won't like it but it's for the best.

Hope this helps and that your cat feels better soon.

It's really not that hard. Have you ever scruffed your cat before? Lightly scruff the back of there neck with one hand pulling their head back a little then squirt the eye drops in. If that doesn't work put them between your legs and hold them like that while you open the eye with one hand and squirt with the other.

Hi there, if your cat is not willing for you to put the drops in (like mine) then i would suggest wrapping your cat in a large towel, That way the claws are "safely" out the way and you only have the head sticking out.

    I hope this helps,
