Does anyone know why doctors are such dumb asses?????
Why do those QUACKS THINK they know everything when the REAL TRUTH is that they don't know a damn thing!!! Oh yeah, there are those little bitty books that they read........ oops!!!! They have no brains!! Just because the book says it, THEY THINK it must be true. Too bad whomever wrote the book was just a big of a DUMB *** as they are!!!!
How many other people out there wonder how much doctors really know???
Oh don't we all know they've spent years in school to become doctors........ too bad the ONLY knowledge they have is how to DRUG patient's into oblivion & make tons & tons of money doing it!!!
What kind of a brain does it take anyway to take one look at someone & start writing fits full of drug prescriptions???
As the ONLY doctor that I know of that wasn't prescription happy, retired 15 years ago. And ever since, I've been surrounded by the biggest dumb *** doctors that ever existed!!!
Isn't there even ONE doctor left out there who actually SOLVES problems, not MEDICATES them to death??

Everytime I go it seems like it is a trial and error thing they try. Well that didn't work so lets try this, until something does work. I agree with you they realy don't know much I fear, but what other chances do you have when your laying there dieing and they are the only ones willing enough to help!

Which "book" are you talking about (since they educate more than 18 years plus a specialty, worth of books plus an inturnship). It's a fact, and doctors do admit it, that they have book knowledge and past experience from patients they have worked with that they rely on, and that when there is something they don't know about or haven't had experience with that they do consult a team of doctors on their staff for input.
There are situations that come up that some peoples bodies do respond differently or strangely so there is a need for the doctor to try different pills or procedures. For instance some people have allergies and need alternatives to solve their situation.
You never did state the problem you are experiencing, and calling people names will not get you anywhere, it doesn't even get your situation solved. Perhaps you didn't explain everything to the doctor. Some situations defy all the meidcal books, so it's up to you to tell the doctor when you are in pain, where, how long, what you have tried, if there is a rash or redness, if you can still function in your daily activities, etc. Without full knowledge by you explaining to them then they can't help you.
Two of the things (of some things) that defy the medical books is when people have phanthom pain and pain for no reason, and another is why do sugar pills work on some people. The body is complex. Cool down, figure out your symptoms and try for a second opinion.

Like people, who are people, doctors are people too. If you think that gaining a couple of qualifications (in any field) makes somebody able to think, or less of a moron than they were before, then the joke's on you.
On the other hand, many people go to the doctor with very vague descriptions of symptoms and do not bother to exclude symptoms that they know are down to (for instance) too much chilli. This can leave the doctor with very little to go on while he searches through your haystack of words to find the needle of your problem.
Meanwhile, back on the first hand, it is a problem that there is just too much health information for a doctor to know. EVER. Often times by the time they have completed their studies, they find that a third of what they know is already obsolete. Then again, of recent times there has been a plethora of new syndromes and more (it seems) being defined every day.
As others have said, when you go to see your doctor, you frequently have to go with some idea of what the problem might be. They are not omniscient or psychic, after all.

I'm a nurse who has worked closely with doctors for 33 years now. Some dont know as much as others and a lot are very knowledgeable in their own fields. I dont know what doctors you've encountered, but I hope you've written a lot of letters to the AMA to get those doctors out of circulation. If you dont think a doctor knows what he's talking about-go to another one or write to the AMA and complain. Things wont change if you just rant in Y/A.

I only go to a doctor when I think I have an infection and need an antibiotic. Otherwise, there is nothing that a doctor can do. If it is a virus, there is nothing that they can do. If it is anything else, it probably too expense and not covered by insurance, so I cannot afford it.

Doctors are smart, they've gone to school for many years to do what they do. However, doctors are paid to not tell you the complete truth, they send you around in circles to bring in more money, have you seen the movie Sicko? This is the basis of that movie, we are in a world where money talks and a dollar is worth more than a persons health. There are cures for many diseases and viruses but doctors are paid to keep their mouth shut on what the truth really is. which makes you think that they are "a DUMB ***"

They know alot more than you are giving them credit for. The problem is that they err as they are human and many illnesses & diseases have the same symptoms. Not to mention, not all patients accurately describe their symptoms & offer far too many "I don't know's." Maybe you should be proactive about your health and research all symptoms & possible causes. You can help your doctor rule certain illnesses out. Stop bitching and start educating yourself.

Doctors like anyone else are just people and some are good and some are bad and some are smart and some are dumb and some can read and some can only talk talk talk.

Yes, I have figured that out a long time ago. You have to research and tell your doctor what the problem is, because he isn't going to know. Especially general or family physicians have a limited range of knowledge. I just tell my doctor what I want, and he prescribes it for me. Sometimes they have no idea what a medication does if they are especially inept.

I believed that many doctor just want to be rich. The formula for them more number of patient = more money. Many of them think that people are ignoranst and try to answer question in simple way.

Some are dumb I agree... But some have a passion and work REALLY hard to get that position... They don't deserve to be insulted because you have had a few bad days at the doctors office...
