Wow what is in the Republican's and Democrat's kool-aid these days?
Could someone please explain why people buy into this whole two party system and then bicker back and forth like a divorced couple in a power struggle?
As you can see xenypoo drinks the repub kool-aid. She points fingers only at liberals.
Germany was not sociallist it was fascist. Hitler wanted the liberals eliminated from his government. Fascism=when corporations have more say in government operations than the people.= what our government is coming to today.

Benjamin Franklin wrote a long time ago that government could function well without elections .
Yet if you want people to support what it is doing you must give them the illusion that they are participating in the decisions .
By having a two party system which operates effectively in the growth of government by both sides you eliminate the ability of the people to have what they need from government and instead feed the government what it needs .
"Should those appointed to make laws be tempted to call an election for each matter that comes before them, they might better be served to dismiss the body and busy themselves with holding elections."
When tough decisions must be made it is the politicians who fail to meet this challenge and instead become mired in elections and popularity .
The presumption of dictating to an independent nation the form of its government is so arrogant, so atrocious, that indignation as well as moral sentiment enlists all our partialities and prayers in favor of one and our equal execrations against the other

I have no idea why. It is a mystery. Both parties are corrupt and care only about furthering their own agenda and staying in power. Yet people keep voting the same two parties in over and over. As long as these two parties have a stranglehold on our government nothing will ever really change. They are exactly the same in many ways, yet so many people refuse to acknowledge this and think their party and only their party is the right party.

People don't buy into it, as you put it. In America, there are two beliefs, between each party. Republicans believe in the freedom of the people, to choose, yea, or nay. Liberals believe everything should be regulated by government. Welfare, CPS (child protection services), gay marriage, taxes, illegal aliens, schools, smoking, alcohol consumption, stem-cell research, Health-care, etc. etc.
These are two different, completely separate arguments.
Liberals are Socialist, and want the government to decide for them, their personal choices, and livlihood, taking care of them, if you will.
Republicans want Americans to work hard for what they have, and succeed in their livlihoods, to continue to keep America strong, through her people. If the people are weak, and controlled, so is the Nation itself, no matter what country.
Remember that Germany looked REAL powerful, at first, during WWI, and WWII, but they failed, with their Socialist government, as did Russia, now is North Korea, and China's only power is their overabundance of people (they will use them in a war against us), but they will fall, too.

It's this simple- we are in a dispute between socialism and capitalism. There are 2 different ideologies. If socialism wasn't a genuine threat, many of us would defect to a 3rd party- libertarian. Very small governement and keeping govt out of our lives financially and morally, is the solution.
But dear God in heaven, socialism is a bigger threat than most people realize. The intention of the hardcore socialists, is to undemine our society to build it back up with socialim.
For right now, we can't afford a 3rd party, which would be a vote for the American Insurgents.
