Why do many US citizens, who support the Republican Party, ...?

Why do many US citizens, who support the Republican Party, label anyone who has a different opinion from them as Communist?

Update:

Princess Zelda:

Your answer applies to other Parties also including the Republican Party.

If you cannot look at a problem, situation, suggested solution that is not yours objectively, then you have closed your mind.

Update 2:

Islam Delenda Est:

By your opening statement you have labeled Democrats as Communist, please open your mind and be more objective.

Update 3:

old codger:

How about the lies that the present Republic government has duped the citizens of the U.S.A with and many of it's former allies are questioning their reasons to support U.S.A. policies and pracices.

Update 4:

WCSteel:

Many countries which adopted some or all these social programs are more of a Democracy than the U.S.A professes to be.

Update 5:

dogsrspcl:

I agree that is not good, but it is still not a valid reason to make a generalization.

Update 6:

Silas G:

That is wrong also, it is not right to label a whole group unless there is undisputable evidence it is true. In a court of law someone charged with a crime has to be proven guilty without reasonable doubt.

Update 7:

Silas G:

You are right about people with informed opinions and most Political Parties.

Update 8:

Felix:

Why stoop to that level, it only makes you appear un-iformed and narrow minded.

Update 9:

Tommy B:

Sorry to say this, but you are narrow minded and un-informed. Try looking things with an un-biassed oppinion. You may be surprised on what you learn.

Update 10:

ladyshondra:

Come on now; most politics parties tout their policies as the way to resolve the worlds woes.

Update 11:

ladyshondra:

Correction:

Come on now; most political parties tout their policies as the way to resolve the worlds woes.

Update 12:

madskier1:

Who brainwashed you? I do not think any informed Republican did or would.

Update 13:

Jeremy R:

That is a little over the top but it is still not a good reason to label a as a whole as Communist.

Update 14:

godisdead:

Some may own guns.

But

This statement confuses me

"God only knows why, they don't even own guns! "

By your name, you belive God is dead and therefore does not exist but you are referring to Him as though He is alive.

????????

Update 15:

kmca63:

I am sorry to disappoint you, but I just asked this question because of many of the answers that have been given by republicans. You have no idea on what my political views, affiliations, etc are.

Please take your own advice and start researching and reading articles objectively that praise and/or denounce both political parties. All political parties have their good and bad points.

Update 16:

Marilyn:

First

I do not have the answer for this question

.

Second

I did not have any preconceptions on how this questions should be answered. It is going the way the answerers are taking it.

Third

It was not rephrased. This is the first I submitted a question. I did no notice that the last part of the question was truncated until I read some of the answers. I checked the quest again and found the problem. I decided to delete it and re-post with the full content of the question. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you for your answer.

Update 17:

and socialism:

These can be applied to both Parties:

They both claim that the government is the solution.

They both assume the people are too stupid to take care of themselves.

They both assume that they, the elite, are somehow superior, and thus, have the right to rule.

Just look at who the U.S.A citizens usually elect to their top job - President.

Almost all recent President have been very wealthy.

What happened to the American Dream?

Update 18:

LC:

No, this is just a general question. I was reading through many of the answers to political questions and the majority referred to Liberal (Democrat) as communists.

Actually, it is not a communist idea. Many Companies use this same theory to support essential departments such as public relations, it, maintenance, security, research and developement. Those departments usually run at a loss, but they are essential for a large company or corpoation to survive

So far uou have given one of the most intelligent answers.

Look at the billions of dollars U.S government spends on the military. Most of that is likely deemed necessary.

to be continued:

Update 19:

LC:

Continuation:

If a country has an area or a number of area where there is high unemployment and nothing is done about it, that area will eventually end up costing the country more than if they invest some time and money into it. It will not only be a monetary cost; but other countries which are opposint it will use that for negative public realations.

This can lead to a monetary hardship or loss for the whole country.

I only label as Communists those who attach themselves to Communist ideology.

For example, there are some even here in Y!A who sing praises of Chavez and Castro, and make apologies for Putin.

I've never encountered this ...I am not affiliated with any political party.... I often disagree with the Republican Party... I often disagree with the Democratic Party .... but I've only ever been labeled "A Communist" by a freeloading "Pothead" Welfare recipient who was considered "challenged" beyond 17 years of age ... got a free ride on the taxpayers and spent all of it on "Pot"....At the age of 19, lost an argument with a Car after midnight one night while high on pot ...riding a small motorbike on the wrong side of the road... head on. I have not encountered anyone else who voiced an opinion concerning my loyalty to Democracy since that incidence.

"Communist" is the least of the names the Republicans use to label their political enemies. I am sorry to say that they have brought a nastiness to the political arena that is worse than ever before, and could collectively be helped by a good mouthwash of soap.

They think nothing of destroying a reputation, hire people like Karl Rove, the King of Reptilean Rumors, to think up hateful slogans and spread destruction. Thus, when John McCain ran in the last primary, it was said he had a Vietnamese lover and an illegitimate child, and it was said that he conspired with the Viet Cong. He lost the primary to George Bush.

They spent 70 million bucks in tax money to try to bring down Clinton, an expensive fiasco that they made sure taught our children about oral sex. They looked back 20 years into Clinton's history, but the past of George Bush is under lock and key, thanks to his rich Daddy.

Mac Cleland is an amputee after an incident in the Vietnam War. It was said he was not a hero, didn't deserve his medals, etc. The same is true of John Kerry, flailed by the Swift Boat bunch, even though his military leaders spoke up for him. The Dixie Chicks were humiliated and ruined because one of them voiced her dislike of George Bush to an English audience. That, of course, was reason enough to destroy their tapes and boycott any radio station playing their music.

At the moment, they are assailing Al Gore, the man who should be President. They are so frightened of Al Gore running again that they can't face Global Warming without attacking his character and his supposed habits.

What a nasty bunch! And they call themselves Christians. If this is Christianity, I am the Pope! Any means to an end seems to be their political motto, and they have no qualms about assailing an enemy with plain, outright dirt!

I am a liberal. I dislike George Bush and his made-up War, where he never cracked a history book to learn a thing about the people and the area he was gung-ho to attack! I consider him a fabricator and an uneducated man. I consider Cheney as heartlessly misguided. I wish neither of them any harm, but I wish they would fade from the political landscape.

But I can hold my head up high among any Republican Group. I am not a Communist, I am a human being with compassion and common sense. I am so sure of this that I can laugh at any name they can call me! As their leader said, "Bring it on!"

Because many US citizens, who support the Democratic Party, label anyone who has a different opinion from them as Fascist.

Everyone with an informed opinion laughs at both Democrats and Republicans when they leave the room.

The U.S. is a Christian nation, The Republican Party is a Chrisitan party, and the honest people try to make the right and intelligent choice. Also, we call people the left communist because, well, they're communists.

It’s a renewal of the Redbaiting scare tactics of the 1950s. The tactic is used by right-wingers to try to silence their opponents and scare people into not supporting them. By using these “scary” labels, they don’t have to actually address issues or acknowledge problems.

Turnabout is fair play, so labeling right-wingers as fascists and Nazis is an appropriate response.

    Brainwashing.

Are you referring to anyone in particular?

I can see communist aspects in the current liberal mentality. Look at how much of our income we are not allowed to keep, and ends up being "re-distributed." That is a very communist practice, and it is supported by liberals. Is everyone who is not conservative communist? Absolutely not. Are some liberal practices communistic? Absolutely.

I'm a Republican, and I don't view those with different opinions as a Communist. I just think that they need to open their minds a bit to other possibilities. Some people are just so dumb and "follow the crowd."

Socialist and communist is not very far from each other. They are based on the same ideas and it doesn't take long for them to become the same.

The current leaders of the DNC are self professed socialist.

Universal health care. Wealth redistribution. Fairness Doctrine. These policies are all socialist.
